We won the award for BEST NARRATIVE at Spilprisen 2025 (the Danish game award show)!

We were also nominated for: Best Game Design, Best Audio, Best Visuals and Game of The Year. We were very pleased to win an award, and were especially happy that it was BEST NARRATIVE, because it's not just about the written story, but how it's conveyed. Everyone on the team has therefore been an important part of this, as we consist of John (writer and designer), Maria (art and animation) and Astrid (music composer).
AND YES! IT WAS SUPER WEIRD TO HAVE TO GO UP AND RECEIVE AN AWARD IN A BIG HALL FULL OF PEOPLE! We would have become actors and not game developers if we felt comfortable on a stage with a lot of lights. ;)
At the show itself, we met people from Playdead (Limbo, Inside), Geometric Interactive (Cocoon), Triband (WHAT THE GOLF?) and Ghost Ship Games (Deep Rock Galactic). They were all super nice and shared some stories from their own productions.
If you've played our game, Anglerfish, these are some of the Danish gaming companies that we parodied at the start of the game. So, it was cool to talk to them for real, and to hear from one of them that they had played Anglerfish and liked it. We didn't really expect any of them to ever play Anglerfish, so this person immediately became our new best friend!
However, it was almost cooler to talk to some of the other small indie developers in our home country. For example, we met Quack People, who were nominated for Best Debut for their ‘The Duck Pond’, which is a cute little idle/clicker game you should probably click on if you're into that kind of games. :)
We also spoke to the small indie team Guidelight Games, who won Game of the Year with SpellRogue. Although they snapped the award right under our noses, we thought they seemed like super nice guys and we have a lot of respect for all the hard work they put into making SpellRogue. If you're into deckbuilding/dice games and haven't already checked out their game, hurry up and do it!
Now we're back in the office, where we've just had the first day of production on our new game. It's called ‘Unsound Love’ and you can wishlist it on Steam already, even though it hasn't been officially announced. So right now, award shows feel far away when you're right back at the start of a new process. We will also soon be test playing the free DLC 2 for Security: The Horrible Nights, as we have done all the stories for that DLC now. :o
However, there's a lot of polishing to do before that DLC is ready for you to play, so you'll hopefully have a good experience.
Thanks again to everyone who bought, supported, reviewed and shared their favorite story from Security: The Horrible Nights!
