Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for playing Toni Island Adventure and for all the feedback we've received so far. We're currently working on the game's first patch, which will be released on August 6.
This update focuses on fixing bugs and making the experience smoother, especially for Steam Deck players.
If you run into any bugs, typos, or other issues, feel free to email us at [email protected].
✅ What to Expect in v1.1:
The Game Boy ROM file will be included with the game files
Improved control rebinding support for the Steam Deck
Fixed an issue with the stick NPC in Bauport that could cause Toni to get stuck
Increased invulnerability frames after getting hit • Fixed typos and text issues
Fixed a bug with a pizza delivery NPC that could stop progress in that quest
Smoothed out some hiccups in the last dungeon’s platforms
Fixed a bug that could cause the final boss to break in some situations
⚠️ Important Save File Warning:
Due to memory limitations from the Game Boy hardware, save files from version 1.0 will not work properly in version 1.1. If you want to keep your save or continue playing the original version, please back up your save file somewhere outside of the Steam folder before the update goes live (08/06).
🔍 Known Issues (Engine-related):
These issues come from the game engine and not from the game itself, but we’re doing our best to improve them.
Screen tearing and stuttering on high refresh rate monitors, especially on Windows
🔧 What's Next?
This patch should cover most of the important issues. We don’t plan to release frequent updates, but we will release a new patch if a major bug is found or something threatens player progress.
We’re also planning to add Steam achievements to the game. Since this requires some low-level programming work, it may arrive after this patch. That said, this addition won’t affect your save file, as it doesn’t involve changes to the game data itself.
Thanks again for being part of the launch and for all your support and understanding.
I'm really proud of this little game and happy to keep improving it with your help.
