Howdy everyone!
This is the sixth and final feature reveal of v1.9 From Below, new cards. Three new cards are coming to Armello, two of which are Rot related. To give a little bit of an insight into the art of Syphon, which is also the key art for v1.9, is League of Geeks co-founder, director and art director, Ty Carey.
With Syphon I wanted to go full metal/epic - it's a powerful rot spell! It had to be very dramatic to do the card justice, and what better way than a classic stormy, cliff-side summoning? A number of different artists helped out on it - Adam sketched out the Sorcerer-Rat's pose, I rendered it all up and Jack finally animated it, adding some nice touches like the rain. What was important to me was getting those great columns of rot-stuff swirling powerfully through the air, and the vastness of the space they're travelling through. Collabs like this bear great fruits (perhaps in this case rotten-fruits?).
That's a wrap for feature reveals for v1.9! Naturally there will be a bunch of bits and pieces that aren't relevant to the main changes, such as a nice little bump for Hand Cannons and Longbow, for example.
