This is a feature reveal for the upcoming Armello update, v1.9 From Below. You can find the update hub here.
Hello travellers!
Welcome to the fifth feature reveal for Armello’s big new update, v1.9 From Below. Today we are talking about Bane Telegraphing.
Experienced adventurers are well aware that Banes spawn from dungeons at night. Now, during the day certain dungeons will indicate that a Bane will emerge the following evening. This will impact the decisions you make when traversing the twisting lands of Armello. To talk about this a little more, we have League of Geeks co-founder and director Blake Mizzi.
We all like to wonder what’s in those deep dark fortified dungeons to the abyss, what horrors they hold back and terrors have been unleashed in their confines – Too many heroes have been surprised and ravaged by a Bane spawn at night, though they are random, there is a logical pattern and system to their apparent madness. Bane Telegraphing is a new feature we’ve implemented in the new update V1.9 ‘From Below’, we’ve added an indicator in the form of rising, bellowing Rot smog to ‘telegraph’ a Bane’s pending arrival. Players can make great use of this knowledge; They can move to protect a nearby settlement; Or not proceed to a Settlement at all and save their action points; Plan their journey to not come face-to-face with a Bane; Or specifically hunt these creatures out to claim their Prestige. Principally players now have a little more knowledge to make decisions about how to proceed with the threats ahead, and that knowledge is a wonderful thing in the grim kingdom of Armello.
