World Interface Changes
- Did more color improvements to targets pane, to help distinguish varying kinds of information.
- Consolidated these zone stats to targets pane: cover, concealment, ambient mana, terrain type and difficulty, and searched status.
- Consolidated these player stats to target pane: mana, mana regen, stamina, force field, alteration, and evasion (most stats also included for now for NPCs and monsters).
- Reorganized left and right information panes to fill in the newly-available space.
- Resized the modal action dialogs.
Scouting Update
Previously, actions would accumulate disturbance, which decayed slowly and stuck with characters wherever they went. I’m now trying a flatter system, where each action provides disturbance for a single turn.
So, you can be spotted one turn, and if you do something less obvious, you can hide (as can NPCs/monsters).
Note that disturbance (and detection) can physical or magical.
Equipment and Path Dialogs
I changed the equipment and path dialogs to use the new inline action pane layout. This means all possible actions are visible at-a-glance, instead of requiring a lot of clicking to reveal.
I still need to do more color work, and probably more fundamental rework, but I’m liking how it’s looking so far.

Other Changes
- Low-level improvements and bugfixes.
- Reduced searching to a single skill/difficulty gate. The previous system was more generic, and not tuned to the current magitech theme.
- Actions like searching, harvesting, fabrication, construction, and research now provide experience to used skills and faction prestige. For now, that’s a one-for-one transaction based on progress contributed (even if due to merging, there’s more total progress than required).
- Harvests now show progress in action button.
