We had hoped to get an update pushed out today Jan 31st but it seems time has got the better of us. Not to worry we will get it out tomorrow hopefully, we have been pushing on two major fronts this past week
1) An overhaul of the networking code which will hopefully fix the problems that people were having with the NAT. We have integrated the Steam Networking API which allows us to take advantage of the Steam Relay options when NAT fails so we should be able to have a better multiplayer experience for everyone. This has involved a rewrite of our master server code too and we will run two master servers next week while people update their clients (the old and the new).
2) The development of a full Mode of Play system. This will allow us to easily create new game play types. The update will come with two new modes of play - Matchplay Nassau for those who like matchplay and Hazard Golf for those of you who like a little fun while playing stroke play. We are also working on the Alternative Shot play format but that will come out in a later update
We have also been working on a number of smaller items, including fixing the stimp setting in the UI, altering the Stimp defaults and range, adding in the number of shots of your competitors on the top left menu, and a fix for the ball roll in the sand. We are also testing a fix for the excessive roll in the rough.
Once we get these major pieces done we hope to provide you with more regular but smaller updates, but given how many people said they could not play multiplayer we felt it important to fix this.
Thanks for bearing with us, oh and the next update will also have a new course.......
