Hi all!
This update introduces some nice Quality of Life, Accessibility, and bug fixes as I head into the Major Update 0.2.0.0. I've implemented a brand new Crawler Safe Mode in response to a few requests from the community to help those who are extra sensitive to certain creature types that bare some resemblance to bugs/spiders (DISCLAIMER - there are NO spiders in my game). I personally have Arachnophobia and will not be adding spiders to Sketchy's.
New
- Crawler Safe Mode
This new option located in the Accessibility Tab of the Settings Menu will alter the appearance of certain creatures, namely: Crawlers, Hatchlings, and Evil Pumpkins, giving them a much “friendlier” look and audio cues.
Here is an example of Crawler Safe Mode affecting Hatchling appearance. Yes, the sounds are replaced with squeaky sounds.
UPDATES
- Insurance has been redesigned and migrated into Custom Game Settings. It is now a checkbox to either lose everything or keep everything on Team Wipe (no more random percentage kept functionality). The previous system was interesting, but it was too buggy and unreliable which created lots of frustration.
- Drop Off Box – the value of the drop off box will be retained across planet travel. In other words, if you put stuff in the box and send it without finalizing then leave to continue your contract, the amount you put in will be there when you come back. This change is being added early as a gradual migration into Major update 0.2.0.0.
- Updated the instructions for the Drop Off box so that they are more intuitive for new players.
- Sandworm Changes:
- Renamed from Tectoniss to Sandworm.
- Strength and Weakness descriptions updated.
- Sandworm can now be killed during the time it is rising out of the ground until it reenters the sand.
- Once killed, sandworms will stop spawning from the “Sandworm Hotspot” the sandworm came from.
- Sandworm Corpses sell for 90 Quota adding additional profit to Sahariss.
- No more 1-shot on contact.
- The Sandworm deals 75 damage every 0.5 seconds to all players standing too close to it for 2 seconds. In other words, a total of 300 damage over a 2 second period.
- Damage radius reduced by 20%.
- Port Ragnar Updates:
- Sandworms have been completely removed.
- A new 1-handed version of Lavasaurus called “Lavasaurus Broodling” has been added to the map to replace outdoor crawlers.
- Map Difficulty Relevancy – Maps are no longer labeled as easy, normal, or hard because there is no current implementation in Sketchy’s that directly determines difficulty. Different players find different maps difficult either based on the layout or the creature types and that's really all there is too it.
- Port Coral and Prot Lumin are now labeled as “New Player Recommended” as these maps tend to be the least dangerous and easiest for new players to learn on. Other maps have a new label called “Dangers” which points out highlights such as lava or sandworms which are individual elements of the map that make it slightly more challenging to survive.
- Claustropede no longer teleports to nearby players if its current target is killed.
- Updated Pet Interaction collision to make them easier to interact with.
- Increased the scan radius of pets so they are easier to locate as they tend to leave the ship a lot.
- The ship hatch now closes right when it hits Midnight.
- Chips sell value reduced form 5 to 2.
FIXES
- Fixed an issue causing duplicate loot to spawn in Level 0 Areas when loading a new map which was effecting performance as well.
- Fixed an issue where Level 3 doors on Sector Zero were not appearing in the Echo lens.
- Fixed an issue where Pet Name’s were blank rather than defaulted if no name had been given.
- Fixed an issue where clients that join a session would see the current quota as the value of the first quota. The value would only correct itself upon leaving and then returning to Sketchy’s to force update it.
- Fixed an issue where 1-handed corpses were not storing save states properly.
- Fixed an issue with collision on the medical bed causing bodies to not be thrown onto it properly.
- Fixed an issue where the Hazardous Container was appearing as the wrong size when placed via aiming (not physically dropped).
- Fixed an issue where Suit Points were only saving if leave session/quit was explicitly pressed.
- Fixed an issue where Flashlight battery duration was not properly set to the correct amount set by the suit modifier when logging in.
- Fixed an issue where sprinting was not canceled properly for clients when hitting zero stamina if "Toggle Sprint" was enabled in the Controls Settings.
- Fixed an issue where the Wood Witch showed its health on scan.
- Fixed an issue where the toilet flush could be heard from infinite distance.
- Fixed an issue where the toilet flush volume was not being affected by the Sound Effect Volume Slider.
- Fixed a spelling error with Cloty’s lifeform description in Sketchy’s Data.
- Fixed an issue where discovered Life Form data wasn’t saving until the game was physically closed.
- Fixed an issue with the Great White Shark hitbox.
- Fixed an issue where chips were subtracting from quota when picked up from the ship but not added when placed.
- Fixed an issue where the Baguette was subtracting from quota when picked up from the ship but not added when placed.
- Fixed various holding animations for the Cyber cat when viewed from client perspectives.
- Fixed an issue with Skeleton Cosmetics where the pulse rifle was blocking most of the screen while swimming/floating.
