Hello everyone!
Hope you are all doing great in the Depths! We here at Crit42 are already deep into planning the next update for A Tale of Silent Depths, the 1.2.0 Update, and we would love to hear your thoughts on what should go into it!
Here are a few things we are already working on:
Full gamepad support! For those who enjoy exploring the Ocean from the comfort of a controller.
The Famiglia questline. This gang of miners could already be encountered across the Ocean as enemies. Now, they will have their own quest line, along with new enemies, characters, and NPCs for you to interact with. Perhaps there is more to the Famiglia than their less-than-friendly encounters would suggest...
Improved warfare between factions, creating even more opportunities for emergent stories as rival factions clash across the Ocean. Exploring war-torn territories should become more dangerous, unpredictable, and, for a daring Captain, potentially very profitable.
Three save slots for runs. Perfect for those who want to keep one run going while experimenting with another Captain or a different build. (Still permadeath, though. The Ocean isn't getting that merciful.)
And, of course, a few more things that we want you to help us decide through your feedback and suggestions!
A Tale of Silent Depths has always been about the unexpected stories that emerge while you explore the Ocean: strange discoveries, dangerous encounters, faction conflicts, desperate battles, and the occasional terrible decision that somehow turns into an amazing run.
For Update 1.2.0, we want to push that even further, so this is a great moment to tell us what you would like to see added, expanded, or improved. New encounters? More faction interactions? Strange things hiding in the deeper waters? Quality-of-life improvements? We want to hear it! Tell us here, or in our Discord!
Leave your suggestions here in the Steam Community or come chat with us on Discord. We are always happy to talk about the game, roguelikes, RPGs, and whatever else might be lurking beneath the surface.
Thank you for playing, sharing your stories, and helping us shape the Ocean!
See you in the Depths!
Cheers!
