Hello everyone!
We're happy to announce Update 1.1.0, the first big content update for our A Tale of Silent Depths.
Highlights
This update brings the Powerhouse Merchant Arks, rare neutral trade convoys that travels the world with its own route and escorts: trade in peace or risk attacking a heavily guarded boss.
Alongside it arrives a new front of elite enemies (Zakar Al'thoras Capital Arks, as well as the Deadland Arks), reinforced wartime spawns between factions, and the new mechanic of procedural settlements, which bring even more dynamics to the deep sea post-apocalyptic faction reality.
Powerhouse Merchant Arks
Those are powerful, neutral merchants that roam the world, carrying legendary loot that can be traded... or plundered, if you are brave (or foolish) enough. They exist as a living part of the Ocean, travelling between settlements while spending some time in each of them for you to trade. You can also follow them if you stumble across, as they have mapped many settlements in the Ocean, letting you know how to map it for those communities too.
Procedural Settlements
Andrey Baskurov is one of the many merchant NPCs you can find in a procedural settlement.
The procedural settlements introduce a new layer for the faction system and overall exploration in the game: containing unique merchants and diverse NPCs, you can find those settlements scattered around the Ocean, bringing new options for your run, interesting loot and some unique storytelling.
They can belong to any of the game factions, and will usually spawn on their faction territories or nearby them.
New enemies
New powerful enemies have been added to the Ocean, namely:
Zakar Al'thora Capital Ark: a powerful, high tech vessel with powerful eletric attacks. They can be found in Zakar territories and, sometimes, in The Dark biome.
Mutant Makeshift Ark: not only their drones can be found in the Silent Metropolis, but also their powerful Arks, introducing even more challenge for those that wander there.
Deadland Ark: the Scavengers now have their own flagship, ready to wipe out in acid any trespasser in their Toxic Wasteland territory.
Balancing and Bugfixes
Barracuda Cannon is now a fair but strong weapon (amazing feedback from you guys here).
Polish and fixing in the Bonanza questline.
The equipment "Corpse of Barkley" now works correctly.
Equipments with abilities now showcase what they concede correctly.
"Low quality graphic setting" now works correctly.
Fixed an error that made the spawn of the Many Faced God almost impossible.
Fixed a soflock caused by entering two combats in sequence after the last enemy in combat died due to a status condition.
Fixed an error that caused infinite money glitch on trade screen by trading with yourself.
We at Crit42 are really grateful to have your support through this journey. Hope you enjoy the new content, and that your adventures in the Depths yield amazing loot, tense combats and, above all, unique stories! Keep an eye out for the next updates for A Tale of Silent Depths!
