Hello, and welcome to our DEV LOG for May.
As spring draws to a close, the season of warmer winds is already upon us. Our development team, too, has been feeling just how quickly time is passing as we continue to devote ourselves to development.
We hope you are also finding moments in your busy days to enjoy the changing of the seasons.
Today's update is about just that. We'd like to introduce two features that offer a brief pause from your journeys across battlefields and villages alike: "Vista Views", and an achievement system that will add another layer of enjoyment to your adventures.
1. About "Lassar" and "Vista Views"
Across Vindictus: Defying Fate, each region is dotted with stone towers that people call a "Lassar".
Built for many different purposes, such as waymarkers, graves, and memorials, these stone towers are said to have been raised over time by many people, each adding their own hopes and wishes.
If you offer a quiet prayer with both hands clasped before a "Lassar" you encounter while playing, you will be able to take in vistas you may not have noticed while you were focused on exploring. From the peaceful scenery of Colhen to the Gnoll Settlement in the Northern Ruins, and the frozen snowfields of the Hoarfrost Hollow, these moments will let you immerse yourself even more deeply in each region's distinct atmosphere.
The Vista Views feature through the "Lassar" stone towers can also be revisited later, so whenever you find yourself in need of a moment's rest amid fierce battle, we invite you to stand before a Lassar once more.
We hope these quiet moments, where you can pause and catch your breath before a tranquil view, bring you a small moment of rest.
2. About the Achievement System
We are currently preparing an achievement system that will let players record and commemorate the paths they have taken.
The achievement system was also briefly mentioned during our AMA in April.
While its planning and design are still underway and subject to change, we are building it so that achievements arise naturally from moments players encounter throughout the normal flow of playing the game, helping make the overall experience even richer.
Of course, some achievements will ask for a bit more curiosity—or a willingness to dig a little deeper.
Alongside elements that can be earned through dedicated challenges, we are also placing hidden achievements whose conditions are not revealed, so that unlocking them can bring an unexpected bit of fun.
We will continue refining the system so that you can enjoy both the surprise of seeing an achievement notification appear at an unexpected moment and the thrill that comes from completing a challenging objective.
With May, our DEV LOG will be taking a short pause to catch its breath. After taking some time to regroup, we will return with even more meaningful updates to share.
Although the DEV LOG will be taking a short break, we will continue sharing development news through our official social media channels, and we hope you will keep following along.
As always, thank you sincerely for all the support you continue to send our way.
