The First FaceRig Update

Hello Super-Awesome People :)

You may have noticed that a bit earlier today we have sent a new FaceRig update your way with fixes for some of the issues you have flagged for us. Let us know if you encounter any problems.

Further updates will be spaced apart by a few weeks, but we will also have a secondary test-build branch, updated almost every day, that those of you who are super adventurous can test ahead of wide scale deployment.

Here is the change-log for today.

Build version : 069b 271
* added an outbound sound delay slider for easier Sound-Viseme synchronization in General Options > Sound Options
* fixed bug with prop resetting position when changing it from drop-down, the sliders would not update
* fixed bug with sliders that don't change values in edit boxes after clicking inside an edit box
* performance optimization (when lipsync or webcam tracking are off CPU load should diminish from the preivous build)
* fixed load video issue: random stops while playing
* fixed Custom Picture Background issue on Doge and Ardalys
* minor shader tweaks for Ecera
* added a first iteration of custom avatars/props import tool (found in Bin/Tools). Note that this tool is still unstable and has some limitations, you'll need to thoroughly read the documentation on importing custom avatars/props if you want to import any custom creations. We do not recommend you to import anything at this time because the testing time on it is almost non existent, but some very adventurous modders have pressured us to make them available in this state.

Here is the accompanying documentation for the import process and for creating custom color masks (also in a draft state):

And also this doc complements the above archive

Please only open this at this time if you are a very experienced modder. Otherwise please wait for us to further test the process and finalize the documentation.

Edit :
In the current version there is a small bug that causes the eyebrows to not frown (like in our trailer). this is killing some of the expressiveness and we will fix this in the next version, but until then there is a manual fix that you can apply: go to Advanced Tracker Settings, on the Expression Units Tab, do a reset to defaults.
That should fix the eyebrows and they will now go both up and down. Then re-tune the expression units to your linking and save the new settings.
Also do not override your fix by loading any of the old previously saved Expression Unit settings.

Or just wait for them to be auto fixed when we will be delivering the next version :).

We wish you an awesome weekend,
The FaceRig Team
