Hello Awesome Folks,
First of all, we'd like to thank you all for constantly providing us with feedback and helping us improve FaceRig.
Secondly, the results of the poll are in! As you might remember, last week we polled our community asking what each of you thinks our next step should be in terms of priority. Here's what you said:
- 51.5% feel that with very few tweaks and fixes left to go, FaceRig is ready for its 1.0 version
- 12.3% think FaceRig is ready, and we can safely end Early Access now, call it 1.0 and start working towards 1.1
Only 5.5% of our respondents feel that there are still a lot of bugs to fix and we're not ready for FaceRig to exit Early Access.
In terms of what we should be focusing on for version 1.1, we offered our community a list of options and asked them to pick a maximum of 5 each. The top picks, by far, were:
- "Streamlining the process of importing custom made avatars" seems to be what you guys want us to focus most (43%),
- followed by "Ramping up number of official avatars/background/props" (42.7%),
- "Additional supported platforms" (37.3%),
- "Hybrid sensor input modes for even higher quality tracking" (34%)
- "2d hand-drawn avatar mode" (31.8%)
- "Increased compatibility of the FaceRig virtual webcam" (30.1%)
It appears that only a small portion of our users are interested in licensed avatar DLCs (23%), a non-Steam version of FaceRig (15.3%) or a timeline editor for movie exports (13.7%)
With all of this in mind, and the fact that the majority of our respondents feel that mobile platforms (53.2%) and Mac (27.9%) should be the next platforms to focus on, we'll be going to our cave to fix the remainder of the bugs you guys mentioned for FaceRig 1.0 and start building our development plan for version 1.1
We will, as always, keep you guys updated as things progress and we get closer to achieving these goals :)
Stay awesome,
The FaceRig Team
