We're back from our one-week vacation, all fresh and ready to bring you the newest updates regarding FaceRig :D
In the latest polls, you've made it clear to us that tracking accuracy is the most important issue we should focus on. We're happy to say that we've made major strides in this direction and early next month (in about 2-3 weeks) we plan to unveil the new update (it will most likely be presented live at our booth at the East European Comic Con, and live on Steam shortly after). It takes a while because we need to also touch up all existing avatars to work optimally with the new system.
If you own FaceRig and want to apply to be part of the upcoming short closed beta for the new webcam face tracking system (before it goes public), shoot us a mail at info[at]facerig[dot]com with the subject "New Tracker Closed Beta Application".
We are looking for about thirty people of diverse ethnicity, various ages, and with various types of glasses or beards/moustaches, (who have ideally been part of closed Betas before), so if you can include a picture, it would be great :D Please include your system specifications (CPU/GPU/RAM/operating system/webcam type and anything else you deem important). Note that FaceRig requires Windows 7,8 or 8.1 to run right now.
Fair warning: all things above being equal, we will most likely favor Beta applications from folks who have been active on the FaceRig forums and have been the involved with the community during FaceRig development :) Also, the original Indiegogo backers hold a special place in our hearts so that may bias our choices as well :)
Last but not least, if you're in Bucharest this weekend, make sure you visit our booth at Dreamhack and meet the team;)
Have an awesome week,
The FaceRig Team
