Hello Awesome People!
Before proceeding to the latest news, let us remind you (like a broken record) that FaceRig is at this time still in development. Before purchasing FaceRig, please read this announcement carefully.
It's recommended that you read the EULA (as you should do with any software you buy and/or use.) Please make sure to also check the minimal requirements and remember that for now FaceRig is Windows-only, and that the mobile/low voltage versions of the listed CPU's and GPU's typically have less performance than their desktop counterparts.
Now to the actual news!
We're taking a short break next week, and may answer with small delays.
It's time to give our dev. team some well deserved time to rest.
We plan to come back charged with energy before entering the last stretch prior to the release (:
We've updated the "nextversion" branch and added some cool new features.
It's important to get your feedback about it before the end of this week.
Here is a compiled change log with all the new changes:
Change log:
- tweaked audio based LipSync to be more responsive and expressive
- started implementing the localization module, English is the only language supported right now.
- fixed a crash at the Voice Processing flow.
- fixed an issue where LipSync would automatically disable after Exporting a Performance
- tweaked avatar and prop rotation control.
- fixed missing lights rotation/position gizmo issue.
- fixed look at camera deactivation issue. When setting tracking ON or OFF, the avatar look at camera would automatically deactivate, without any visual cue on the UI. Now, the feature is toggled on and off only by going to the Behaviour tab of the Avatars dialog.
- fixed twitchy avatar while rotation around the environment issue.
- added fade from and fade to black frame (~1 second duration) to exported movies. This feature will be customizable in later builds.
- fixed lights duplication issue. Some backgrounds exposed the spot light for customization even though there wasn't such a light in the environment.
- fixed some issue regarding the save and load of the advanced tracker config autosaved file. In some cases values were overwritten with some default ones.
- light position/rotation value boxes wouldn't have taken default values
- for those of you who have touch-screens: added basic touch gesture support:
- panning moves the avatar or props (such as alt + middle mouse click)
- pinching zooms in and out (such as alt + right mouse click / scroll)
- rotating rotates the avatar around it's own Axis (alt + left mouse click)
- fixed tracking issue. If tracking loop rate was set at a very high value, the tracker wouldn't have picked the users face at all.
- fixed prop scale snap issue
- added FXs to various backgrounds
- screenshot folder was not saved. Issue solved.
- changed DOF customization range interval. Interval was far too large and it was difficult to tweak.
Known issues:
- The lighting positioning/direction gizmo only disappears when choosing a different setting to modify in customization. If customization menu is closed while gizmo is open, gizmo stays on screen. Gizmo also shows up on exports if it's visible on screen.
Have a nice week! :D
