Hello Awesome Folks,
We've updated the default/current version of FaceRig to match the latest stable version from our "nextversion" branch. This should not only fix a lot of issues, but also add new features for those who are using this branch and have not been keeping up with the updates as we rolled them out to the "nextversion" branch.
Here is a compiled change long, comprised of all the changes made between the (ex) current version and nextversion.
(Warning: incoming wall of text - we don't usually do this, but since we haven't updated the default version in a while we figured you folks might want to know what changes this update brings for you)
- fixed an issue regarding switching to an earlier state of FaceRig when closing a performance.
- fixed advanced tracking issue. Feature states (enabled/disabled) were displayed incorrectly always enabled.
- some display adjustments added to all galleries (avatars, backgrounds, props) when using the search feature.
- avatar moves to the left when a GUI dialog is opened to make room for dialog
- avatar specific props now load correctly and their skins are displayed
- fixed loading a custom 2D backdrop for the Custom 2D background. All .tga and .dds files can now be loaded from \Mod\VP\PC (for DX9) or \Mod\VP\PC_dx11 (for DX11), \Mod\VP\PC_CustomData (for both DX9 and DX11) and c:\users\\Documents\Holotech\FaceRig\AdditionalData (for both DX9 and DX11). Also, all JPG files can be loaded from anywhere on disk.
- added support for .TIF, .PNG and .BMP files. They can be loaded as masks (for avatar customizations) and custom 2D backdrops. Like .JPG files, these also can be loaded from anywhere on the disk, there is no restriction on the folder they reside in.
- .JPG files now also load on DX11. This was an issue for earlier versions, .JPG files would load but would have been displayed as a black frame.
- all error boxes (Windows message boxes) have been ported to the new UI.
- removed Reset Avatar when Tracking Lost from Avatars > Behavior tab.
- updated karaoke UI
- added delayed screenshot feature. The delay can be customized from General Options dialog > Preferences tab > General sub-tab - Screenshot Delay
- added new Graphics (General Options dialog) options: - toggle fullscreen mode - Global Fur LOD - to the far left fur is not present at all, to the far right is the default value and the way the furry avatars are meant to be displayed. Global Fur LOD also has an impact on performance. - Skin Subsurface Scattering Quality (also impacts performance) - Global Use of Multiple Normals (on/off) (also impacts performance)
- hide interface option change: if the interface is hidden and the mouse hovers a dialog, the option is toggled OFF.
- added Hide button to the Tracker Source Feed (to toggle it back ON, just go to Picture in Picture Mode on the top menu bar)
- added a new PnP mode. Forth mode is the tracker source feed set as a background, with the avatar placed in the foreground. Lighting changes when using this option, as the custom 2d background is loaded first and the feed is set as the custom 2d backdrop. Switching this mode off, will reload the custom 2d backdrop set by the user and reload the previous background the avatar was already in.
- added PRO version initial splash screen
- added loading screen hint (on what FaceRig is currently loading/processing)
- fixed autosave/autoload for Hide Interface, Look at camera, Hide Logo, Tongue Enabled, Custom Action Enabled
- added support for special triggered animations on props.
- added support for arms and hands puppeteer with keyboard and mouse. Yvonne is the only avatar supporting this feature at the moment. Arms are controlled by default with Shift + Left Click / Shift + Right Click and additional Ctrl key if you want to rotate the hand in place.
- GamerSlug can now look into the camera
- Added new avatar Hatzi. It has a special pose action on ears. You can trigger it by switching Enable Custom Actions to ON and pressing the V key.
- Added two default props on Yvonne: Visor and Hand Laser.
- The Visor can be activated by switching Enable Custom Actions (Avatars dialog > Behavior tab) to ON and pressing the M key.
- The Hand Laser can be seen by controlling Yvonne's right hand
- fixed whiskers customization issue (features were duplicated and weren't working)
- Karaoke playlist panel can only be closed from the close button on the panel.
- added custom web background. Load the Background Custom Web from environments and change the webpage by altering Custom Web Page property from Customization > Backdrop tab
- added a green screen background
- some options from Advanced Tracking Configurations, Pose Avatar and Avatar > Customization tab are now linkable with their counter part (ex. left eye color can be linked to change values to right eye color)
- 3D backgrounds are rendered at fixed camera FOV (35)
- fixed pose avatar issue (sliders not correctly updated)
- fixed sound loopback issue. Option was set ON as default.
- new corner depressor interpretation. The avatar can take intermediate poses between smile and sad. It is easier to make a sad face.
- Yvonne's visor is now lighting her face
- error boxes are now modal windows, the interface is disabled until the error box closed.
- various UI adjustments
- FaceRig Virtual Cam has been updated, Lync 2013 should not crash anymore.
- fixed motion blur issue on 640 x 360 render resolution
- fixed shadow map quality consistency issue. When changing shadow map quality at run time, the effective quality would have differ than the one after an application restart.
- fixed shadow map issue on several avatars
- optimized karaoke songs loading time (also this also affects application loading time)
- key binding issue solved: mouse clicks were not registered correctly
- fixed color controller default value issue (default was always set to red)
- fixed some memory leaks present in video mode (Load Video option) and karaoke video mode
- added notification center on bottom side of the screen. All saved files are saved in a 3 item history and can be opened in their container folder.
- avatars update their position correctly when a dialog is opened.
We wish you an awesome week,
The FaceRig Team
