We've updated our nextversion branch and you can now set a web page as a background for your avatar!
We've also iupdated the FaceRig virtual cam driver and FaceRig's interaction with Lync should result in no friendly fire (no more crashes). We're waiting for user feedback to confirm :)
Since we've received such valuable feedback on our last user poll, we'd like to hear from you again. Help us improve your FaceRig experience by taking 2 minutes of your time to fill it out! :D Take our short poll
If you are wondering about how to use the "nextversion" branch here are the steps:

- Close window. The FaceRig program will update to the "nextversion" branch.
FaceRig v 0.997.001b (build 466 Holotech Studios - Mar 16 2015) - nextversion branch
Change log:
- added custom web background. Load the Background Custom Web from environments and change the webpage by altering Custom Web Page property from Customization > Backdrop tab
- added a green screen background
- some options from Advanced Tracking Configurations, Pose Avatar and Avatar > Customization tab are now linkable with their counter part (ex. left eye color can be linked to change values to right eye color)
- 3D backgrounds are rendered at fixed camera FOV (35)
- fixed pose avatar issue (sliders not correctly updated)
- fixed sound loopback issue. Option was set ON as default.
- new corner depressor interpretation. The avatar can take intermediate poses between smile and sad. It is easier to make a sad face.
- Yvonne's visor is now lighting her face
- error boxes are now modal windows, the interface is disabled until the error box closed.
- various UI adjustments
- FaceRig Virtual Cam has been updated, Lync 2013 is not crashing on our machines anymore, but we are waiting for user feedback to confirm the issue is fixed.
Known issues:
- at 640 x 360 resolution the motion blur is glitchy. A ghost like figure of the avatar is displayed. A quick fix to this is to set the motion blur strength to a minimum value. To do this, go to Environments dialog, Postprocessing tab, Misc tab and set the motion blur strength slider to the far left.
- when starting or restarting FaceRig, the webcam feed is sometimes lost. As a temporary fix, just go to General Options>Devices and re-select the webcam and Refresh.
- changing Shadow map quality from inside FaceRig doesn't work properly. We recommend starting the program with the desired shadow map quality value (can be selected from the launcher) or restarting FaceRig after changing Shadow map quality. If your image looks anything like this http://i.imgur.com/A0yDQnd.png, you need a restart so it looks more like this http://i.imgur.com/KGlLU23.png. Also, upon starting the program the resolution and Shadow map quality listed in the graphics tab (within the program) do not reflect the real settings being used at that time. Please for now use exclusively the launcher to operate changes to the program resolution and shadowmap quality settings.
- some of the avatars do not cast shadows when used in 3d backgrounds. This does not affect 2d backgrounds or the Web page background.
