content
- optimizations for improving performance on low-end computers
- a brand-new free avatar
And now the details
FaceRig v1.226 (build 717 Holotech Studios - Nov 18 2015) - all branches :
the localized strings from the “nextversion” branch have been touched up and added to the “default” branch. Note that we are constantly adding features to the application and UI elements, that means there will always be some untranslated texts, (until we reach a large enough set of string to localize them). Language support for: English, Japanese, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Italian. To change language, switch to the advanced UI, go to General option-> Language. added My FaceRig tab (from Help dialog in the Advanced UI). It is a minimalist item browser for FaceRig-generated content. For now, you can find two galleries (screenshots and videos) which allow you to share items on Facebook, upload videos to Youtube and generally easily find your items on disk. added Separate Render Window feature for those who want the Avatar and Background without any UI elements showcased on a separate display, while also having a the UI available in the original window (maybe you have a secondary monitor/projector that you use to entertain an audience). Activate this feature from General Options dialog > Preference tab > General sub-tab > Toggle Separate Window option . A new window will appear. You can move it around and/or maximize it on a secondary monitor. added another graphics option that could help users with limited GPU/CPU resources. Activate the "Simplified Postprocessing" option from General Options dialog > Graphics tab. Note that this option will invalidate most of the Backgrounds Customization and Postprocessing options (No more Bloom, DoF and such). added Youtube upload option for video files added Facebook share option for video files added drag and drop feature. You can drag avatar and background customization files over FaceRig to apply them to the current Avatar and Background. Also, works for tracking configuration files. Dragging a .rpl file will automatically play it. added "Photo-Realistic Turkey" avatar Some users were unhappy with the fact that the greenscreen backdrop does not always have the exact same RGB value. We have thus changed the 2d picture backdrop shader, (including greenscreen), to no longer be affected by the virtual HDR camera adaptation. Now you can chroma-key with more precision. This will however have as a side effect by default the characters to be very dark if your background picture is overly bright and viceversa. For instance on the green-screen the render's camera iris will adapt to the very bright green background so you will have to either dial all light parameters up, or limit the camera's HDR adaptation. Advanced UI -> Environments->PostProcessing: Dial down the Tonemapping Range Max value until it has almost the same value as Tone Mapping Range Min. This only affects the Greenscreen , web-backdrop and custom 2d backdrop. added a new alternate importer script (note that the old one still remains). The main difference between the new and old importer is the way it handles animations. The old version relies on certain bone names and specific animation relations that could not be updated with ease. The new importer script requires animations as FaceRig needs them but it gives the liberty to choose the bone hierarchy. It also enables us to keep up to date the features exposed to the community artists. Here is the link to the official guide to the new importer script and also here is the link to an Example
We are always researching and implementing features for a better user experience. Let us know your thoughts about all the above changes either here in the comments or on the forum.
Have a great day,
The FaceRig team
