Hello there! Welcome to the very first Development Blog for Museum Keeper - Red Thorn Interactive’s second title! My name is Arindam and I’m the lead designer behind the project.
If you’ve played AlexanderBall: A Countryball Tale, you’ll know all about us. We’re a tiny studio from Bangladesh looking to make a big mark on the video game industry. We tend to incorporate a bunch of history into our games and we try our best in the indie and strategy gaming spaces.
So that’s Red Thorn. What about Museum Keeper?
Museum Keeper is a hybrid museum ‘tycoon game’ crossed with a 2D digging game like Spelunky or Dome Keeper! One moment you’ll be wondering which artifact to place in which corner of your museum, and the next moment, you’ll be fighting slimes (and many other nasty critters) as you uncover ancient artifacts deep underground!
We’ve taken a lot of inspiration from a variety of games and we truly believe that these two genres, in this context, can be a really fun and coherent gameplay experience.
Although we are not giving away too much in this dev blog, I encourage you guys to take a look at the screenshots and the game descriptions. We’ve got a lot of great plans for this game, including a rich artifact economy, staff management, combat, procedurally-generated mines to explore, and much, much more. We’ll be going over all of the features in development blogs like these over the coming weeks and months.
I know with the right amount of elbow grease and a bit of luck, this could be a real contender!
For now, hit that follow button, add us to your wishlist, and join our discord! It would mean the world to us and I know we won’t let you guys down.
And with that, I bid adieu! For now…
