Status Update: Week 5 & 6

Hello strategists!

ːcsgogunː

First of all, my sincere apologies for posting the update this late, but unfortunately, February is taking up time for all of us, more so than initially expected.

I'll get back to that later on, though. Let's move on to the more important stuff;

Development progress

So, as you all know, we've held two official beta tests so far, but beta testing is free for all, day and night, every week. We want to release our current features to the public this week if at all possible, but the beta test responses are simply insufficient to make conclusive analysis from.

Therefor, we'd like to urge anyone to join our discord and fetch the link there. (I can't post it, it's a google form, and those links are blocked.) You can join our discord here.

The link will be in the beta test channel, you can find it easier with the pinned messages.

Let's carry on...

The tournament that's supposed to happen...

A lot of people looked forward to witnessing this tournament, the face-off between four communities in the garry's mod scene to see who is best..

Well, there's some news on that, and I'm afraid it's neither positive, nor entirely negative. Let me explain.

Over the past course of one and a half months, a lot of preperations were put into place by all of the communities participating, and we want to thank them immensely. However, we're afraid a community has had issues getting their two teams together, and as such, the tournament has been scheduled back to the beginning or middle of March.

This gives me, and the developers to get out of February without being overworked (I have a job that's hectic this time of year, and several developers have their tests to do..) and allows the community to get their teams in order before the tournament. If by March the criteria has not been met (four communities pledged entry, and we're not going on a goose-chase for a new one) we'll unfortunately have to cancel the tournament as a result.

I do want to focus attention on the tournament in June/July that will be open for any and all to participate in! Like I said before, more news on this later this year.

The final point I'd like to touch on tonight is the following...

The lobby problems...

It's been a big concern to everyone, and this is my only way of offering a sort-of solution. Typing up this message, allows me to contact the playerbase at large, and I'd like to urge the following;

Please try and be more open and outgoing to your random co-players, who knows what you might get out of it. It's good practice to open your game to others, rather than kicking them, and potentially even learning from said co-players.

That is all for tonight, as I'd like to keep this one a bit shorter as usual. As a last note, please consider filling out our beta test response if you've been playing on the dev branch of the game.

With best;
Songbird & Team.
