Redux's first month of beta went well, thank you to everybody who is participating. The most common crash bugs were fixed and community feedback has shown which Redux features need be implemented next.
May's development will focus on finalizing the Steam Workshop addon support in Redux, this includes publishing new addons & full support for legacy addons.
A new Redux feature called Backpacks will be used to organize assets and prepare your addon before you share it to the Steam Workshop.
Backpacks & improved Steam Workshop support will be the 2 major features I'll be pursuing in April, but I will still be attempting to get as many smaller feature fixes & improvements in, as always.
With that, here is the change log for today's client update 5/2/2017:
- Improved debug info for people affected by a crash when un-pausing AArcade.
- Added a Vimeo scraper.
- Updated the YouTube scraper to create items of type "videos", same as the Vimeo scraper does.
- Added WEBP image support to the image loader.
- Fixed the Steam Store scraper to work once again.
- Improved the YouTube player to support URLs that have a playlist in addition to a video ID.
- Renamed the Task Menu to the Tab Menu because it will have multiple tabs. These tabs all have things that you will frequently want quick access to.
- Added a Commands tab to the tab menu with commonly used Source engine commands.
- Added a Tasks tab to the tab menu.
- Added a Screenshots tab to the tab menu.
- Improved the tab menu to remember which tab you last viewed in it.
- Added an Addons > Mounted Games menu that lists which Source engine games you have mounted. This menu will be improved in future updates.
NOTE
Pushed a hotfix at 3:46pm Pacific time to fix the Create Shortcut menu to work with non-YouTube shortcuts again.
