Seekers...

Before we get into where we’re at, we wanted to quickly first give a big thanks to everyone who posted such positive comments on our last announcement.

We messed up, and until we can at least prove we’re good to our word, we don’t really deserve such overwhelming kindness. In our minds we OWED you, the players, our customers, an explanation. It was that simple! But you still certainly put a smile on our tired faces and we thank you for that.

Down to Business!

In two or three day’s time, either on the evening of Wednesday the 15th or Thursday the 16th, we will be making a fairly significant patch to the game .With this, all major game breaking bugs *should* be resolved and we will be removing the notice from the front of the store page (it certainly makes for good encouragement to move our butts!). We’re actually far ahead of schedule on this end and owe so many of you a BIG thanks for this swift turnaround. Your extremely cool bug reports both to the forum and email have been nothing short of brilliant.

The downside is that it will forcibly kill all currently incomplete save games. This means, any save games that have not reached the end will be invalidated. On the other hand for the many of you who have reached the end that particular game will be kept and logged as complete in order to move into Game Two with your chosen variables intact. This will all be done automatically, and you will not lose your Bishop Six.

The big question probably on your mind is “Why do you need to wipe my save game?” Unfortunately, this is how the Source Engine works. For us to make changes to the maps (and fix bugs), the maps need to change, and that causes all save games to be invalidated. It sucks, but we hope you all see it as a payoff for playing Consortium in a bug-free (or close to it!) environment.

What's Next?

With the major game breakers out of the way come this week’s patch, we still have some work to do on performance and (as expected with any newly released game) work out any minor bugs we come across. Performance problems thankfully are directed at specific card types and *most* people above minimum spec are having no problems.

This means that our V1.1 patch on January 31st will mostly be about performance but we’ll still be fixing any other issues that may come up between now and then.

Performance. We are hard at work on two major issues related to performance: our renderer and a potential memory leak we’ve discovered. With these two problems resolved the game will run as it SHOULD on any machine above minimum spec. We are well aware that some machines which should not be having troubles are running into fairly bad frame rates at really odd and seemingly random times.

Crashes. Many of these have been resolved but still some others are related directly to our memory problem. If you find yourself playing the optional beta and crashing at seemingly random times, this is likely memory related and we’re on it! If you instead find yourself playing the optional beta and are crashing at the exact same point or event every single time you attempt it – please go here http://steamcommunity.com/app/264240/discussions/1/630802344454854277/ and Let Us Know Right Away! These ones should all be gone.

Has YOUR Problem Been Fixed?

If it stopped your game then it most likely has. Click this link for a list of everything we’ve fixed since last week and which will be a part of the patch this week (along with whatever we can squash between now and then!).

How Can You Help?

We’ve been asked this question quite a bit lately, and the best way to help us is to go here:

http://steamcommunity.com/app/264240/discussions/1/630802344306576674/
-- This is where we’ll be posting our daily updates on what we’re up to and what we’ve fixed within the “optional” beta system. To opt into this beta system follow the instructions at the top of the link.

Once you’re in, take a look at what we’ve listed as fixed and try to prove us wrong! Not only that but you can also try and break the game. Act crazy, do random things or the opposite of what you’d normally do. A> You’ll have a ton of fun doing it, and B> You’ll be more likely to find the most obscure of issues. Report anything you find to the corresponding forum here:

You're almost finished a playthrough and don't want to lose your save?

Well, we have a solution for you. Grab a patch specifically for the endgame sequence that should be clear of all the major bugs. If you have a save just before leaving Zenlil, this patch will work for you and will allow you to finish the game! Grab the zip and unzip it directly into your game directory. Say "yes" to overwriting files.

I guess that’s it for now. We’ll make another announcement on Wednesday or Thursday when we’re a-go with the big patch, so keep an eye out for that.

Sincerely,
-The iDGi and Consortium Team
