🚗 Hey Awesome Drivers!
It’s time for the next Weekly Update! As always, in a few points, we’re presenting to you what we've been working on this week in Used Cars Simulator 😀 Just a reminder – we’re showing what we're working on in the whole project. These are NOT the updates to the demo – it's the same as before 😀
1. Car Handling
We are working on car handling and the ability to modify it during gameplay. We're trying to extract the most important parameters, which we will adjust for several different driving modes. Here, you can see us working on the Drift mode.
2. New NPC
We’re still adding new NPCs who will play significant roles during the game. Here you can see the Lake Camp Boss. Lake Camp will be a place where you can buy items like baseball bats and lockpicks - tools that will come in handy for illegal activities.
3. Outline
We are refining the entire system for grabbing items, looking at them, and interacting with them. This also involves properly displaying the outline on specific objects. This will make it easier for you to navigate the game and understand specific tasks.
Here you can see how the outline reacts using different spray nozzles as an example. If we select individual parts, only that part is highlighted. If we choose a nozzle for the whole car (which will be one of the upgrade options related to painting), the outline highlights the entire vehicle.
4. Terrain Improvements
As we continue improving the terrain's appearance, we're moving on to the next regions. Here you can see our work on the surroundings of Lost Angeles - our lost city.
5. Save/Load
We're adding a lot of new mechanics, and we need to make sure that all of them save correctly and can be properly loaded. It's a very complex process - that's why we're working hard on it! ːsteamhappyː
6. Quests
We’re also continuing to develop the story of our game, adding new quests for you to complete.
7. Inspection - Car Price Improvements
We have also been working on adjusting the price of a car based on its condition. Let’s explain this with an example: a buyer proposed a price, but before the purchase, the car's condition significantly deteriorated (e.g., due to being hit with a baseball bat).
As a player, during the inspection, you will be able to see which parts are damaged. Consequently, the price of the car will change (you can also see this in the speech bubble above the seller's head).
Here you can see that on the testing scene.
8. Port Name - Voting
We have also finished the voting for the name of the port. The winner is... USB Port
We have to admit, that’s a really good name!
Let us know:
Which of these features do you like the most? Which of these features would you like to know more about? 😀
