Have you ever been in this situation?
You’re staring deep into your vaults, have been for hours, but see only the same old tedious hats and helms, and dusty robes and armors that have been hanging there for too many seasons to count. All around you it’s springtime -- new sights, sounds, and colors abound. But not in your vault, which is as sparkly as a gloomy Pyrron dungeon.
You happen to catch sight of your reflection -- wrinkled tunic, faded boots, droopy belt -- and your mood improves not at all. For the hundredth time, you wearily think it again: I simply have NOTHING to wear.
Well, cheer up. We can help you. The legendary fashion designer himself, Adamo Otteramo, recently traveled these parts and left behind, in the hands of his most trusted tailors and seamstresses, the latest creations from his dazzling new spring collection. But it is Adamo’s wish that these rare outfits, divinely elegant, be given to those only worthy enough to wear such finery.
Adamo values intellect and adventurous spirit. As such, he has instructed his assistants to hide themselves in remote locations throughout the land, exceedingly unusual spots that only the bravest of explorers will ever have a hope of finding. Adamo’s assistants, once located, will then test the explorers further, by asking them a single riddle pertaining to this mystical land in which we all dwell.
But beware! Adamo loathes multiple choice, nor is he partial to the policy of unlimited guesses. However, as a fashion designer he does understand that it would be unfair if his garments came in only one size, which is why he has given three outfits, of different sizes, to his assistants: Small (levels 1-20), Medium (levels 21-40), and Large (levels 41-70.) The explorers then should seek out those parts of the land most befitting of their size.
The first explorer to correctly answer the riddle in their level bracket will win Adamo’s latest fashion creation! (Each of the three level brackets will have a different riddle.) There will be three winners on every server, unless of course a riddle goes unsolved. In that case, none may claim that particular garment. (Adamo feels strongly about this.)
Event Details and Rules
• At the given time, all participating players will congregate in Ardent. A ‘tournament guide’ will then make an announcement:
* Players of levels 1-20 will be given the name of the specific zone in which to look for Adamo’s hidden assistant.
* Players of levels 21-40 will be given the name of the specific zone in which to look for Adamo’s hidden assistant.
* Players of levels 41-70 will be given the name of the specific zone in which to look for Adamo’s hidden assistant.
• When the names of the three zones have all been revealed, a time clock will be set for one hour. Players will travel to their designated zones and search for the hidden assistants.
• Adamo’s three assistants will be clearly labeled, so there will be no confusing them with other players.
• Once a player has found Adamo’s hidden assistant, the following procedure will take place:
* Adamo’s assistant will first verify that the player is in the appropriate zone for their level. If so, the assistant will then invite the player into a private party chat line.
* The assistant will tell the player the riddle, but will supply them with no other information. (No hints, no clues, nothing.)
* The player will then be removed from the private party chat line, and can deliberate on the riddle for however long they like. But remember, the clock is ticking!
* When player is ready to make their guess, they will return to Adamo’s assistant. Player will then invite the assistant into a private party chat line, and make their guess.
* Player is only allowed one opportunity to guess and the spelling of the answer must be correct. There are no second chances.
* If player answers the riddle correctly, they will be deemed the winner of the prize, and that particular section level of the tournament, from then on, will be closed.
* An announcement will be posted on the forums, alerting all players to this. The tournament guide in Ardent will also announce whenever a riddle has been solved.
* Once a section has been closed, that assistant will then position themselves near the portal of the zone, and routinely announce that the section is now closed.
• When the hour is up, the mini-game event is over and no more prizes will be handed out, at all.
• WHISPERING IS NOT ALLOWED. (We are using the honor system and hope you will abide by it.)
• Players may only claim prizes that are in their level bracket. For example, a level 50 player may not participate in the level 1-20 section of the tournament.
• The use of alts is allowed, provided the alt is appropriate to the level bracket. For example, if your main toon answers a riddle incorrectly, you may try for other sections of the tournament with your alt. OR, if your alt happens to be of the same level as your main, you do have an opportunity to make a second guess at the same riddle.
• On each server, all of Adamo’s assistants will be hidden in the exact same location, and will ask the exact same riddle.
• The tournament guide in Ardent will be on hand to provide updates, or direct late players to their appropriate level zones, or answer any questions regarding the rules of the event. However, the guide in Ardent will not repeat riddles. Only Adamo’s assistants will ask the riddles, and will repeat them to players as needed.
• If a player has inadvertently gone to the wrong zone bracket and asks for the riddle, Adamo’s assistant will direct them to the appropriate zone.
