Notes to the Players
This build is a response to all the player comments. Briefly, the major fixes are:
- Summer’s Hollow and Oak Valley were made more interesting and unique, and include some special challenges and easter eggs.
- We improved the controls for movement, the camera, and combat to be snappier and more responsive. But, we're just getting started! More to come.
- Multiple players can now use the same crafting station.
- We added VSynch.
We did not make the changes to Energy yet, but the change will come in the next build.
Stay tuned-- lots more great stuff in the coming weeks.
Improvements
- Summer's Hollow and Oak Valley were completely reworked: new monsters (Goblins and Felcats instead of wolves), new and more interesting Quest dialog that matches the quirky and funny style of the game, and other secret stuff…
- Improvements to movement and camera control
- We improved the walking, running, and strafing animations.
- A & D keys strafe while the right mouse button is held down.
- Click-to-move now defaults to off.
- Right mouse button no longer causes the character to change direction except while moving with WASD or mouse-drive.
- Right mouse button no longer breaks auto-run.
- Rotation to a target or move location is now instant and doesn't prevent attacks.
- Don't accelerate or decelerate during click-to-move or moving towards target, and reduce over-running.
- WASD is now more sensitive and now has a "ramp up" time, instead of immediately moving at full speed.
- Combat Improvements
- Fixed: The player effect bar sometimes 'blinks' out.
- Effect icons now will appear instantly.
- Fixed: when switching targets, the effect bar sometimes carries over for upwards of 3-5 seconds.
- Feat/Spell Button flash is much shorter now.
- Fixed a bug causing effect icons to occasionally briefly disappear.
- Combat bar now pops up instantly if combat starts or a feat is used.
- Cameo orb of players and NPCs now appears instantly instead of after a few second's delay.
- We renamed "Sheep Pen" to "Animal Pen"
- We added support for Vertical Sync. There is now an option in Settings->Display->Miscellaneous Options->Vertical Sync to turn it on.
- We cleaned up Sapphira's Lament, reducing some of the thicker populations of mobs
- Belts and gloves now have unique 3d loot objects
- The depths got a slight cosmetic touch up with some new torches
- The warrior spell Huzzah was cosmetically improved to no longer show green
- Enemy Hill Giants bash spell had its damage slightly reduced and its duration reduced.
- The "Display" tab in Settings has been renamed "Options" to better match.
- There is now a button to send bug reports in the "Display" tab in Settings.
- Players who are inactive for 30 minutes will be exited to the Character Select screen.
- We removed "Marty" in Ardent who was using the anvil (and taking up space!).
- We moved Aldispos.
- Strength of the Bear buff now has a 3 minute duration
- In-game spirit essence models are now disabled by default.
- House Rent: make it so that if the player's account is less than 1 week old, they can rent for 5 days, and prepay for up to 5 days from the current day at any time during that week. If account is 1-2 weeks old, it's 10 days. After 2 weeks, it's like it was before...up to a month prepay, and 2 weeks on purchase. Also there is no foreclosure grace period until 2 weeks.
- Multiple characters can now craft at the same anvil, cooking pot, or other crafting node.
- Settings changes should no longer be lost when the game crashes.
- We Increased XP tables from level 1-10 slightly so players don’t level up so quickly
- We removed the series of leveling gift bags and have replaced them with small named gift packs that certain NPCs in Oak Valley give to players. In general players get about the same amount of goods, but they get them at better times rather than all at the end.
- All elder parts now have a unique 3D icon to show what they are (instead of the old pyramids)
- When Arcron performs an elder restoration, there is now a fancy lightshow.
- Charters of all levels now give Charter Tokens
- We made several lighting fixes in Pyrron zones
- We tweaked some of the sizes of the monster part 3d loot.
- The following negative effects are now curable by the priests cure spell: Confuse, Bewildering Blast, Spore Cloud, Spore Blast, Condemn, Malevolent Roots, Shadow Howl, Frightful Bite, Fear, Paralyzing Fear, Chilling Cry, Doom
- Players can now walk beneath Pyrrus legs in Pyrron Courtyard.
Bugs Fixed
- Fixed: Some Steam Players can't buy crowns. We need to detect if the user does not have the overlay turned on, and if so, post a pop-up to explain what they need to do to enable the Steam Overlay, as well as redirect to the Steam website to complete the purchase.
- We fixed a bug causing strafing and moving backwards to sometimes start off not matching camera direction.
- Fixed: You are at -52 -253 68 in Shadow Fated Vega, The water is transparent in this location.
- Fixed: Level 70 Decoction - making 1 level 70 decoction requires 3 level 65 decoctions and 1 water.
- Fixed: We added some tech to hopefully speed up frame rate in The undercroft.
- Fixed a bug that was causing Venom of the Serpent to not look correct when cast.
- We fixed a bug that caused warrior mobs who cast Huzzah to not be able to attack
- We fixed a bug causing signs to show nothing.
- The game will now repair itself if it detects it has been corrupted.
- We fixed a bug causing the game to freeze while sending a bug report (ironic, we know!)
The following bugs were hot-fixed last week
- We fixed a bug preventing guild players from getting a house in their guild village.
- Exception typo: server grabbing prefs from db
- Fixed a bug with the Quest log that made it not work for some people at the start of the game.
- We Reduced the respawn times of monsters in the first two zones.
- We balanced the early zones with more channels so they can accommodate a larger influx of players
- We fixed a crash bug caused by some assets not being properly unzipped. This was the second most common crash bug. This would cause the game to crash when launching.
- We improved patcher/launcher download rates. It should no longer be too slow to download.
- We fixed a bug that prevented certain Brazilian players from signing in from Steam.
- We fixed a very rare bug that caused DLC items to sometimes not be granted immediately. NOTE: Players who did not get their items initially will automatically receive them now.
Bugs We Cannot Reproduce (or we need more information)
- “Having problems with showing Cheery the signet from Shangri. It won't work either having ring in bag or on me. The dialogue box does not change either way. Plz could you help.”
- “Vega not giving xp for players within 10 lvls only for 5 lvls”
