REBORN Patch Notes - Part 3

(continued from part 2)

    Lake Kiwa

  • Old System: Vim tutorial.
  • New System: Gathering Safe Haven. All Vim tutorials have been temporarily removed, and will be replaced with gathering strategy tutorial system in the future. COG representatives are present at Lake Kiwa.

    Purchased Hats - Aggrandize

  • Old System: Increased max vim by 20-30
  • New System: Increases chance to recycle (not use) supplies.

If Vim is gone, does that mean I can craft endlessly? Yes. As long as you have the mats, you can craft for as long as you want. There is no gate.

Will crafting use supplies? No. Supplies are used only in the gathering skills.

What happens to golden tools in this new system? No change whatsoever. Golden tools yield the exact same results as before.

Art Improvements

  • Made the female and male player hands smaller
  • Improved many of the female faces and heads
  • Improved the World Map
  • Improved some of the local maps
  • Made the trees look nicer (for the art techies, added custom normals to make them appear fuller). Also gave them a better texture.

GUI Improvements

  • "Shop Vault" was renamed to "Shop Items".
  • Added a total stack value to the tool-tips that tells you the selling price for the entire stack of items
  • Quick action bars on the inventory window can now have bound hotkeys.

Misc Improvements

  • Improved Gardening rarities: Improved the rarity system of crops to help differentiate between different types (magical vs common, or hasty vs. normal)
  • Added a Reflection slider to Settings->Graphics. Note: even on the second notch, reflections have a big impact on frame rate. Only on Extreme are they enabled by default, and even then not at the highest setting. However, if you have a fantastic graphics card, you could try moving reflections to the max.
  • Improved the Stinging Blasio and Jabs daily quests
  • The Villagers & Heroes 'Game Guide' on the web site has been updated, and now reflects all changes made within the past year, as well as new info for pre-existing sections.

Graphics Improvements

  • Boosted the frame rate by over 50%!
  • Reflections now are ON when a player selects Extreme for graphics setting.
  • Reflections no longer reflect everything in the scene - just the big stuff. (Reflections in the water now reflect the sky, the mountains, the clouds, but not all the creatures and trees. * This improves the frame rate.)
  • Changed minimum res to 960x760
  • The camera avoids fewer objects, leading to fewer jarring camera movements.

Playbalance Improvements

  • Reduced the amount of lucky gems that drop by but increased their sell value. Players will see a lot less gems popping out of gathering nodes and mob deaths, but because of the increased sale price the gold received by the player will be a perfect wash.
  • We increased health regeneration when not in combat by 2.3x.
  • We reduced crafting XP Requirements by a significant amount at the higher levels (so it will be a little easier to keep crafting levels equal to combat level).
  • Because of this, several of the higher level recipes (levels 40+) will also change as well, lowering the base amount of refined materials needed.

Pyrron Playbalance and Improvements

  • Medallion Balancing: Addressing issues that we have heard from the community, we took a pass at the Pyrrus Medallion system, attempting to make it a bit easier and less of a grind.
  • Added: Sapphirra's Lament, Pyrron Courtyard, Lower Keep, and Pyrron Mezzanine, now all drop Obsidian Medallions.
  • Lowered: Bastion and Ramparts key prices have been lowered from 300 to 200 Obsidian Medallions
  • Changed: Bastion and Ramparts no longer drop Obsidian Medallions, but instead drop Malachite Medallions.
  • Lowered: Undercroft and Apothecary prices have been lowered from 700 to 325 Obsidian Medallions
  • Lowered: Underbelly and Creation Caves have been lowered from 325 to 200 Malachite Medallions
  • Changed: Underbelly and Creation Caves no longer drop Malachite Medallions, but instead drop Carnelian Medallions
  • Added: Creation Caves, being a difficult zone to navigate, now has double medallion drops (all bounties drop 2 medallions).
  • Lowered: Armory and Staging chambers have been lowered from 725 to 325 Malachite Medallions
  • Lowered: Key to Keppel Cavern has been lowered from 750 to 600 Carnellian Medallions
  • Pyrrick Acorns
  • Pyrrick Acorns can now by purchased using any of the Pyrron Medallions types. Visit the Goblin vendors in Sapphiras Lament to see specific pricings.
  • Drop rates on acorns has been increased slightly
  • Stone Steps
  • All Insurgent gear (rings, belts, and gloves that removes the stone step effects) have had their minimum level restriction reduced by two levels each.
  • All Insurgent gear has had its gold value reduced by half.
  • Stone Steps no longer nullifies all speed boost modifiers, but instead reduces any bonuses you do have, never reducing the player below default movement speed.
  • Note: There will be no compensation for players who have already played through these zones with old stone steps effect.
  • Zone Brightening: We have heard players mention that several of the cavernous Pyrrus zone feel too dark and gloomy. We want to take an attempt at making these zones more fun to be in (this does not affect the dungeon type environments).

Low Level Zones - General Improvements

  • Improved the Following Zones by adjusting the levels of the monsters and the quests and art improvements: Ardent City, Elk Meadow, Ardent Castle, Southern Coast, Kingsport, Shadow's Den (new zone!), Oak Valley, Villages, Mounds, Vinton, Bearhold Valley, Addict's Ascent, Cook Village, Traders Path, Green Gate, Sirens Course, Bearhold Crypt, Forgotten Reservoir, Southern Marsh, Zombie Town
  • Old Summer's Hollow and Oak Valley have been visually updated and re-purposed to fit as level 15 and level 20 zones. Players might see a few familiar faces.
  • Elk Shadow has moved from Elk Meadow. He found a new home...

Portal Changes

  • The portal to Maiden and back is now accessible from Mounds.
  • The portal to Blackfury Gorge and back is now accessible from Badlands.
