Introduction
The night has been quiet for a little while, but beneath the surface, things have been stirring.
Some of what follows has been mentioned previously on Discord and social media, but we wanted to bring everything together in one place, expand on a few details, and offer a glimpse at what is happening behind the scenes.
Updates have been somewhat slower over the past few months. Part of this has been due to the heat, which has made development considerably more difficult at times, but the bigger reason is that much of what we’re currently working on is more involved and requires additional time and attention. As always, we’d rather take the time to get things right than rush something out before it’s ready.
Progress may sometimes be difficult to see from the outside, particularly when we're working on things that aren't quite ready to show. But behind the scenes, Harrowed World continues to grow.
Harrowed World: What’s Past Is Portents
Our plans for ‘Harrowed World: What’s Past Is Portents’; our Episodic Vampire Narrative Horror Game, remain unchanged. The remaining stories are still planned as updates at no extra cost for all Story Pack DLC owners.
The game has taken something of a back seat recently while we continue bringing our other projects forward. With three vampire games in development simultaneously, we inevitably have to shift our focus between them depending on what each project needs at a given time.
That doesn’t mean the remaining stories have been forgotten. They have all been planned out and previously announced, but as a refresher, I’ll go over them again here.
The next two stories are planned as a double bill, as they share several characters and locations as well as a partially overlapping storyline. Bringing them together should allow us to tell the stories in a more cohesive way while making the most of their shared elements.
Tamali’s Story
You are Tamali Chandra; while dealing with your husband’s recent betrayal, your whole life is changed completely for the second time.
Hungry, thirsty, confused, and alone is a bad combination when you’re a newly turned vampire.
Vincent’s Story
You are Vincent Locke, a police detective investigating a series of gruesome cultish murders when you become the primary suspect.
Will you discover the perpetrator or go down for the killings yourself?
Ivy’s Story
You are Ivy Ashbrook, a streaming paranormal investigator who specialises in fake hauntings.
One night while staying in an abandoned house, you discover much more than you bargained for.
Bella’s Story
You are NOT Bella Quillan, and this is NOT your story, or is it?
You are an ordinary worker in a seemingly mundane office forced to track down your missing girlfriend when the police refuse to investigate, stating a lack of jurisdiction on the corporation’s property.
Harrowed World: Portents In Red
For ‘Harrowed World: Portents In Red’, our Modern Vampire Narrative Horror RPG, development is currently focused on expanding the world and making it feel more substantial. We’re adding new locations, including interiors, while also continuing work on the combat system.
We’re also looking into creating a new teaser trailer showcasing some of these additions. We believe this could be a great opportunity to give everyone a better glimpse at how the game is developing, while also helping expand the Harrowed World community by introducing more people to the RPG and the wider collection of projects we’re creating.
We know the RPG is the project many of you are most eagerly waiting for, and we’re very aware of that. However, it’s worth remembering that the success of all our projects directly helps the RPG. The more successful our other projects become, the more we can continue to invest in and expand the RPG.
Harrowed World: Dracula Fallen
Development on ‘Harrowed World: Dracula Fallen’, our Text Based Vampire Interactive Novel Horror Game, is progressing well, and the demo is beginning to come together into a playable experience.
Our current goal is to have a 30 minute playable demo ready for the next Steam Next Fest. This is not yet an official announcement. We will only make that announcement once the demo is complete and has been approved by Steam.
If circumstances allow, we may also be able to provide the demo early to members of the Creator Program and certain paid Patreon tiers.
As previously indicated, the Legacies in Harrowed World are generally regional in nature. As ‘Harrowed World: Dracula Fallen’ is set in the United States, it will introduce an entirely new collection of vampiric bloodlines mostly unique to the region, although their presence in the demo will likely be limited.
Updated Dracula Fallen Screenshots
Below are some updated screenshots from ‘Harrowed World: Dracula Fallen’, offering an all new glimpse into the game’s dark atmosphere, text driven presentation and distinctive interface.

The Night Continues
While development may sometimes move more slowly than we'd like, work continues across all three projects. Some things are being built, some are being written, some are being tested, and others are still lurking somewhere in the shadows, waiting for their time.
Thank you for your continued support, enthusiasm and patience. You’ve only just begun to uncover the secrets of the night.
We’ll leave you with one final mystery, what do you think each of the HUD icons represent?
