One month ago, we were announcing you in exclusivity the upcoming arrival of two dragons based on a talented player 22Rii’s design.
It’s with much excitement that we are sharing today the first finalized textured designs of these two amazing babies; named Kryon the Lapizthorn and Utyon the Bloodwitched Eye!
Discovering these dragons, many of us in the team felt like it was one of Runewaker’s best realizations so far… proof if it was ever needed that the most awesome things happen when game developers and player’s communities work closely together!
Kryon the Lapizthorn
Kryon’s thorns, which sparkle in the moonlight like dewdrops and blend in with the sea water, are normally the last thing his chosen prey sees before it disappears into his mouth. He doesn’t have any eyes and cannot swim, but still, fish and other sea creatures never escape his excellent sense of smell when he silently hovers above the water surface. During daytime, he rests in wooded and rocky areas where he is almost invisible due to his unique camouflage.
Utyon the Bloodwitched Eye
Nobody who sees Utyon would believe what’s really going on underneath his beautiful white-plumaged surface… He is the angel of death, condemned to drink his foes’ blood, which is what gives his feathers that crimson glow. Once the macabre coloring fades away, he must go on the prowl once again, where he will even resort to eating his own kind in dire circumstances. Utyon is extremely dangerous, and it is strongly advised to only admire from afar.
