Hi, Gamers!
RolldBox Games development team Today with Ferran, one of our Co-Founders, as well as the Game Designer and Creative Director of the studio at RolldBox Games 👋
We are continuing our 'Making Of' video series, where we give you a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Masks of the Void: Origins! 🌀
CHAPTER 3 | #Iret (I) 🌀 #MasksOfTheVoid
In this third chapter, we focus on the character of Iret. But not just the Iret who has received the mask and the power of telekinesis—we are also looking at the untransformed Iret, the lab assistant.

In the lore of Masks of the Void: Origins, Iret works alongside her adoptive father, Dr. Herdesett, in the Boreal Island laboratory. She is perfectly happy staying in the shadows, always willing to help and do her part to save the world. She believes heavily in the power of "others," but not so much in her own. Do you get that impression when you first meet her? She is a bit of a lab rat who enjoys things like a good game of chess.
Everything changes the moment she puts on the mask. We wanted to inject a massive amount of personality into her transformed state through her character design. We gave her a suit with long, flowing tails to help clearly telegraph her movement direction, her dashes, her object throws, and her reactions from a 2.5D camera perspective.
We also made sure you can instantly identify which mask she is currently wearing (and its specific telekinetic power) by the color palette of her suit. It is a full composition of shapes, colors, and movements designed to channel all that power directly into her hands—and into yours!
If you haven't jumped in yet, try it out!
Feel the rush of telekinesis and the chaos of hurling everything in your environment to survive this frantic world threatened by the Neverending Night.
We will be sharing more "Making Of" chapters soon!
