With the Update to v0.008, I've finally to save its state—specifically for harvested resources like stones and trees. This means that these resources are now finite. Once they’re harvested, they won’t respawn when the world is reloaded.
With the current build, building is now possible anywhere, even in the middle of a forest. Only points of interest and dungeons are blocked from construction. I’ve been working on this resource-saving functionality for quite some time, and this current version is the first stable one, as far as I could test it.
In the demo area, there are approximately 60,000 trees and 20,000 stones available to harvest. I have no idea how well the system will handle thousands of trees being chopped down. In my tests, I only harvested about 100 trees or so, and it worked smoothly.
I also tried creating a dedicated demo build, but I abandoned the idea after a few days because it took too much time and effort. This means that, unfortunately, the demo will remain the same size as the full build, with the rest of the game world locked for demo purposes. However, I’ve managed to reduce the overall game size slightly by cleaning up some unnecessary files, saving a few gigabytes.
I apologize for the demo’s size, and I appreciate your understanding.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year—and don’t forget: Have Fun!
