5 Row Harvester, Automated Seed Changer + Wheat!

Hello Fellow Farmers,

The Week 6 Early Access update is ready!

Thank you all for playing and supporting ACRES. This week I've added some exciting new tools to help with growing the farm, as well improvements to tractor production and quality of life features.

Patch Notes EA_0.23.1128

5 Row Harvester Upgrade

Unleash the power of the mighty 5 Row Harvester, now capable of harvesting up to 5 rows simultaneously.

Harvesting tines extend into the tractor's path, eliminating the need to rotate the harvester to clear the first row, especially when blocked by buildings.

Automated Seed Changer

Step into the next era of farm automation with the cutting-edge Automated Seed Changer. This technology automatically switches seeds in tractor implements when the tractor passes over the Changer's occupied acre.

Whether you're using a planter implement or hand planting, the Automated Seed Changer seamlessly overrides the selected seed with its designated crop for the new cell and all subsequent acres. Experience unparalleled efficiency in your planting operations.

Cycle through available seeds with the Secondary Action key (Right Click or Gamepad X)

World Widget Icons for Planters

Added a world widget icon displaying the currently selected crop to planter tools for enhanced visibility.
Planter tools now display the current selection in the world:

Planter Implements also show the current crop being planted on the model:

Introducing Wheat: A New Crop for Your Fields:

Diversify your fields with the addition of wheat, a nutritious and versatile crop that complements your farming repertoire. Explore new possibilities and enhance the diversity of your harvests with this latest crop addition.

Streamlined Purchases with Row Multiples:

Simplify your land acquisition process with added support for odd-sized area selections. Now offering 3-Row and 5-Row purchase options, I've adjusted the field size to 7x8 to align seamlessly with equipment sizes.

Also added the ability to allow a row or field purchase of new acres even if the cell in the area is overlapping an acre already owned. Purchase new acres effortlessly, even if some cells in the area are already owned.

Tractor Optimizations

  • Only initializes mesh on spawn.
  • Removed sequence order of operations to eliminate potential backward bug sources.
  • Reduced tractor collision width to remove chance of floating point inaccuracy leading to improper blocking when another tractor is beside it.
  • Potential fix for non canceling after rotation from turns.

User Interface Improvements and Renamed Features:

Stay informed with the new world widget icon, displaying the currently selected crop on planter tools and amendment spreaders. I've also rearranged action buttons in the incoming orders window for improved visibility. Additionally, the 'Auto Select All Orders' button is now renamed 'Automatically Add Orders,' emphasizing its function of adding incoming orders directly to the contract queue without displaying the selection popup window.

Additional Updates:

  • Display current type icon on Planters and Soil Amendment spreaders.
  • Show time when Farm Details popup window is open
  • Rearranged action buttons in the incoming orders window for improved visibility.
  • Renamed 'Auto Select All Orders' to 'Automatically Add Orders' to clarify functionality.
  • Changed select game mode orders from "Orders are Mandatory" to "Orders Are Mandatory and Automatically Added."
  • Renamed the right storage menu to "Harvest."

Bugfixes:

  • Beehive progress bar in soil data updates with the current value change.
  • Fixed popup tool confirmation widget initial focus when using a gamepad controller.
  • Reliably close Incoming Orders, Farm Details windows, and Guides with the ESC key.

0.23.1128

  • Fixed collision channel of seed icon mesh while tractor is hidden.

Enjoy the enhanced farming experience with these exciting new features and improvements. Happy farming!
