Hello everybody, last week was mostly testing and behind the scene fixes and polishes. Most of the work was redoing the whole Settings panel and especially how the display settings are applied. This was very (VERY) old code that was written with very basic understanding how Godot works, and it was time to be rewritten.
So what was done:
Main Menu: Added borderless option, all options were rearranged in a more logical way and most importantly with the needed setting for keyboard/gamepad navigation.
Fullscreen/Borderless: Previously those settings were applied after you go to the Settings menu, before the game always launched with it's default settings. Now I'm using the override settings file which is created (and modified) as you change the settings, this makes launching the game to go directly to user preferences.
Story > Dialogs: Some of the portraits were slightly adjusted, and all of the dialogs are written and tested up to level 9-1 (almost there!)
Ships: The descriptions of the high-end ships (MK5, MK5-X, MK6, and MK6-X) are adjusted
Achievements: Some of the descriptions are adjusted to read better, most of the titles are more readable as well, and the in-game popup is fixed
As a whole the main work went into writing and testing all of the dialogs in the game (preparing for the release version), and of course the full rewrite of the Settings screen.
