Hello again Willowguards!
We've just updated the demo to version 0.19.9.1, which brings with it multiple small but pretty additions, and one big and scary one. Let's start with some of the small and pretty additions before tackling the big scary one:
- Some new backgrounds replete with pretty parallaxing!
- A new fancy sheen to the blacksmith/card upgrade menus
- A bunch of bug fixes (such as cooldown timers now pausing properly when the game is paused)
- Various other little UI, UX and other such polishing.
And the big one: the new save system!
When loading a game, you will now be able to pick between up to 10 checkpoints (you can set how often they're saved in Settings). This means you'll now have some ability to go back to an earlier spot if you for some reason need to. For the most part, though, this update will be quite invisible to the user, and things will continue to work as before!
EXCEPT, of course, that it means all of your current saves will seem to have disappeared after the update - but fear not, they can, in fact, be saved (pun intended).
Do this:
- Start the demo, despair for a moment that your saves are gone, and then start a new game in the slot you used.
- Quit the game, and then go to C:\Users\ Take your old save for the slot, named something like "slot_x.save" (where x is the number of the slot, starting from 0 for slot 1) and put it into the new folder for the slot, named "SaveSlot_X" (where X is the same number as your old save).
- Delete the new save inside the slot, named "slot_x_0.save" (where x is the slot number).
- Rename your old save to "slot_x_0.save" (again, x being the slot number, so e.g. "slot_0_0.save")
- Start up the game again, and when you press Continue, you should load up your old save, safe and sound.
