Its personnel strength peaked during the Korean War, when it comprised nearly a million people; around 900,000 served during the Vietnam War as well. Today, the U.S. Air Force has approximately 320,000 personnel. It is the most funded air force in the world and possesses the largest fleet of aircraft.

About these aircraft
George Bostwick’s P-47M-1-RE bore the nickname “Ugly Duckling” and featured a unique camouflage scheme that has been recreated in the game. It is the fastest version of the P-47, retaining its maneuverability even at high altitudes. Armed with eight 12.7 mm machine guns, it can carry HVAR rockets and bombs in 250, 500, and 1,000 lb sizes, a payload of nearly two tons!
Ray Wetmore nicknamed his P-51D-10 “Daddy's Girl”. This fast, maneuverable fighter is ready to engage both ground and air targets: it can carry HVAR and M8 rockets, as well as bombs ranging from 100 to 1,000 lb. Once the ground targets are dealt with, you can unleash its six 12.7 mm machine guns backed by a massive ammunition supply!
