Dear commanders, today in our development blog:
- We'll tell you how to vote in the Steam survey;
- We'll share good news about the encyclopedia;
- We'll look into some important aspects of the game;
- And we'll tell you about some tweaks and features in the next version (a complete list of changes is coming soon).
About the Survey
We added a survey to the game a week ago, and its findings may influence the development process. Unfortunately, the survey hasn’t been appearing right after first entering the game, as it was supposed to. We'll definitely fix it, for now you can vote by clicking "News" in the top left corner of the screen on the globe.
Please let us know what you think about our project and give your vote!
About the Encyclopedia
Many players have really liked the Blitzkrieg 2 encyclopedia. But when we announced its analogue in Blitzkrieg 3, some didn't like our idea to publish the encyclopedia on the website.
Well, we have good news for you! :)
We've decided to add this important component in-game. The encyclopedia will provide you with the historical background and detailed game characteristics of the units, and just as importantly will help you find out where to find the particular types of troops or vehicles you need. This information will enable you to approach any battle tactically and deliberately.
Important Notes
- There are only a few players who know that successfully positioned defence, impenetrable to the enemy, may grant you troops in amounts comparable to Skirmish rewards. This is a great reason to use all of your knowledge when placing your units, guns and pillboxes at your base. Just imagine: you go to bed, wake up, enter the game in the evening, and there they are: two new Tigers on the Units panel!
- Last time we announced in the development blog that we would add an opportunity to wipe progress on your own to the menu. This option will be activated with the release of the Soviet campaign. You'll be able to wipe individual factions, as well as all at once.
- You often ask us how to change your faction in the game. To change factions, enter your base, press ESC and then choose the menu item you need.
- We have received multiple complaints that it is impossible to place anything on the parade ground of the base, which is against common sense and tactics. We are working on it now.
About the Upcoming Update (complete list of tweaks and innovations coming soon)
- Lags in side missions has been fixed.
- Essential Provisions mission: trucks do not have such a huge amount of health anymore.
- Large Caliber mission: we've fixed the bug making the mission not count as complete, even if you meet all requirements (nothing happened after clearing the guns).
- The provision points bug in Skirmish has been fixed.
- The bug causing doubled units has been fixed.
- Having analysed the statistics of mission completions, we've come to the conclusion that Daugavpils has become a stumbling block for many players. Therefore we've made its completion a bit easier.
- We will be adding a Depth of Field option to the game. This will let you make fascinating screenshots, but we recommend not using this option in PvP. This option defocuses the landscape around your unit. While that makes for very compelling imagery, it gets in the way during battle.
See you on the battlefield!
