We are excited to share the details about the upcoming major demo version update with you. So let's begin.
New enemies
We're introducing our first Yokai enemies, starting with Kodama and a few types of Oni.
This update will also come with the archer. Use the arrow reflection to hurt your enemy.
Finally, face the first boss, Renjiro Nakamura, whom Kazuki searches for through the demo.
Combat Improvements
New combat style.
It's time to show the second playstyle for Kazuki, represented by the hat he wears.
By wearing the speed hat, Kazuki can swing his sword faster without stopping. The speed of the slashes naturally results in lower damage, but it increases when the player hits the enemy often.
This is a good choice for players who value a fast and aggressive playstyle based on dashing.
Parry series.
The next update will add enemies that require several parries before they are stunned.
Other improvements.
Minimap
We are introducing a minimap to the game that will indicate nearby mini-bosses, possible interactions, and collectibles. This is a key improvement to the exploration system in a top-down game since the player cannot look around the horizon.
Inventory system.
The inventory system will help players better understand how much they have collected. Besides that, it will also introduce new narrative possibilities, new ways to reward the player, and new progression elements to the game.
Optimization.
After the release of the demo, we wanted to improve how the game works. In short, we did it. The upcoming update should improve performance by up to 100%.
In addition, the update will fix several bugs, including ones connected with the afterlife system and a bug that caused enemies to gain above-average speed, especially when performing attacks.
The update will be available in June.
