Those new to the Distance community might not know about a couple community-run events that have been in motion. Our backer community has always been helpful and inviting, and if you're new to the game they'd love to have you join in the fun!
Speedy Saturday
Speedy Saturday is essentially a Saturday multiplayer meetup that takes place from 1pm to 3pm CST. As posted by Fork on the /r/Distance subreddit:
"Do you like to go fast? Maybe do some spins, flips, or wall-rides? Do you sometimes find yourself boosting for just a bit too long because you could've sworn that checkpoint was in range oh crap I hit a wall? If the answer to any of those is "Yeah!" or maybe even "yeah sure they're pretty cool", then you're gonna love Speedy Saturday! What is Speedy Saturday? Speedy Saturday is a day all about getting together with friends and strangers alike, hopping into a digital world, and going moderately above the speed limit. Myself and the community members mentioned at the beginning of the post will all be hosting separate Distance servers, accompanied by a Mumble channel with a matching name. We're inviting each and every one of you to not only come and have some fun in Distance with us, but to join us on the Mumble as well.

Distance Advent Calendar / Tag Tournament

This entirely community-run advent calendar features a new user created level (and often times a new Distance-themed wallpaper) every day until Christmas! We're halfway through at #12, so you can already download 12 levels from the calendar right now! All of us on the team can't wait to see what'll be released in the next couple weeks!

There's also a Tag Tournament taking place on Dec. 20th as a part of the festivities. The winner will receive a copy of Distance Digital Deluxe (25$) to share with a friend + 20$ worth of steam credit. If you'd like to be a part of that sign up at the link below!
