Hi everyone! Today we're releasing another minor update which brings level editor support to Trackmogrify. Jason's new random track algorithm has already changed the result of almost every seed, so if you have a favorite level you'd like to preserve you can now do so in the level editor. Here's a breakdown of the changes:
Beta 3699 Minor Update
- Added early version of the Trackmogrify system to the level editor (open the Trackmogrify tab to use it)
- Added Trackmogrify to level tags in workshop if the level was generated with Trackmogrify
- Added a cap to how many lines can be displayed drawing debug lines to prevent an out of memory exception
- Made it so entering play mode in the level editor requires you to finish or cancel a tool if a tool is running
- Fixed a bug where SaveAs wouldn't pop open the file browser properly if the Editor tab was closed
- Fixed bug where input would get detected twice when entering the level editor from play mode (causing re-entering the play mode sometimes)

Alongside the Unity 5 upgrade I've been spending all week deeply entrenched in Adventure mode. I've been experimenting with different narrative devices and how we can convey story elements without stopping the action. It recently dawned on my that there was potential in using the announcer to convey info about the car and world, so I started diving into it again. If you'd like to see my process for iterating on the announcer I'll be streaming my work on it today!
Unity 5 Progress
Our project conversion to Unity 5 has been quite a process for everyone, but we're making good progress. We've already noticed improvements to load times and overall performance. Right now we're working on the underlying multiplayer tech which we hope won't be too big of a conversion. Afterwards we still plan to release a (very) experimental build where players can try out the new tech. More news about this upgrade to come soon!
Also, the next Workshop Highlight should be released early next week since I felt that it was better time for it. Let me know if you have a track you'd like to see highlighted. Thanks everyone!
