It has been a while since our previous game update! The main reason is that we are currently in the middle of remaking the Outpost and reintroducing multiplayer, with crossplay being developed first between Steam and Epic Games and planned for consoles later on.
In the meantime, we have also been working on several levels and other parts of the game. Today, we’re finally ready to share a small part of what we’ve been building!
A new update is now available for the current playtest version of Infinitum, introducing a new Exploration Mode level, updated character suit models, improvements to our modular entity jumpscare system, quality-of-life changes, and various bug fixes. The centerpiece of this update is Level 150: The Infinite Garden:

LEVEL 150: THE INFINITE GARDEN
"High above the clouds lies a garden where flowers grow between empty corridors, enclosed courtyards, and forgotten structures."
The Infinite Garden is a new handcrafted Exploration Mode level focused on atmosphere and discovery. Depending on how thoroughly you choose to explore it, the level adds approximately 10–20 minutes of new playable content to the current playtest build. Unlike Infinitum’s main Story Mode levels, Exploration Mode offers smaller, self-contained environments that allow players to experience different parts of the Backrooms outside the main campaign.
Exploration Mode does not feature entities. The focus is entirely on exploring each environment, discovering its different areas, and experiencing its atmosphere.

To complete the level, players must locate three Tarot cards and place them at the Celestial Door before it can be opened. The Tarot cards required to complete The Infinite Garden are:
The Empress
Three of Cups
Ace of Pentacles

Each of these cards was hand-drawn by our environmental artist, Sara. Even for smaller details like these, we prefer creating our artwork ourselves rather than relying on AI. We believe much of a game’s magic lives in the small details, and we want every part of Infinitum to feel intentionally made, because it is.
THE FIRST WANDERERS POLL WINNER
The Infinite Garden was the winning option in our first official Wanderers development poll. Our community voted on which Exploration Mode level we should add next, and Level 150 received the most support with a total of 122 votes. Following that result, the level moved into development and has now been added to the playable build.
This is the first time a level selected through The Wanderers Platform has gone from a community vote to a finished, playable environment inside Infinitum, It represents an important first step toward our goal of allowing the community to directly influence which levels, entities, systems, and other content we develop next.

UPDATED CHARACTER SUIT MODELS
This update also introduces improvements to several parts of the Wanderer character suit.
The mask and gloves have received new 3D models with additional detail, improved shapes, and a visual style that better matches the direction of the rest of the suit.

The new mask features a larger visor, updated filters, improved proportions, and additional sci-fi details.

The gloves have also been replaced with a more detailed model featuring protective plating, improved materials, and integrated sci-fi elements that better match Infinitum’s aesthetic. These changes are part of a wider character update that will continue as we improve the appearance and customization of the Infinitum Hazmat Suit.
MODULAR ENTITY JUMPSCARE SYSTEM
We have remade the entity jumpscare system to make transitions much smoother and more cinematic.
When a jumpscare begins, both the entity and the player now smoothly move toward a modular jumpscare point instead of immediately snapping into position. Their positions continue blending for a configurable amount of time based on the needs of each individual jumpscare.
This fixes the positioning issues that could occur during previous jumpscares, makes the current sequences feel cleaner, and gives us a stronger foundation for every future entity jumpscare.
Oh, and The Hound can now break the planks when chasing you!
QUALITY-OF-LIFE IMPROVEMENTS AND BUG FIXES
Alongside the new level and visual changes, this update includes a collection of smaller improvements and fixes across the current playtest build.
These include general quality-of-life adjustments, visual corrections, gameplay fixes, camera-effect improvements, and more.
We will continue monitoring your feedback and addressing any issues reported following the update!
Closing Note
The Infinite Garden may be a smaller atmospheric addition, but it marks the first new playable level added since The Wanderers platform launched, and the first community-voted level to make it into the game!
More development polls, level updates, entity improvements, systems, and Story Mode content are already planned and on-going on Infinitumbackrooms.com
Thank you to everyone who has continued following Infinitum over the past months, and especially to the Wanderers who are helping us continue development!
Level 150: The Infinite Garden is available now in the current playtest version of Infinitum, we hope you enjoy exploring above the clouds.
