Hello controllers,
Today, we’re officially declassifying the 2026 Development Roadmap for Mini Airways.
Our programmers spent Q1 reviewing the code and fixing legacy bugs to ensure a rock-solid foundation. Now here is what’s coming starting in Q2 (April–June):
✈️ Q2: Route Expansion — More Than Just a New Map
First up: a New Map! It’s coming very soon. Take a close look at the background of the roadmap—any guesses on the location?
Beyond the map, we’re focusing on the License System. Rise from a Trainee Controller to a Expert. As your rank grows, you’ll unlock perks that provide actual assistance during high-pressure shifts.
We’re also adding Daily Flights. Not sure which airport to tackle today? Let the gods of RNG decide.
📦 Q3: Black Box Decryption — New DLC Incoming
In Q3, we plan to release a Map DLC.
We realize that with the Steam Workshop, you can already build almost any airport you want. Because of that, simply adding "more maps" isn't enough. Our goal for the DLC is to implement new mechanics—things we’ve never done before that change the gameplay—mechanics that the Workshop currently can’t touch. We’ll be looking for your creative input on these mechanics soon!
We’re also adding the Black Box System to the base game. This will let you save the state of the airspace right before a disaster, allowing you to share the scenario with friends. Let them see if they can survive what you couldn't. After all, crashing is better when shared! We can’t wait to see the absolute chaos you share in the community.
🎧 Q4: Co-op Dispatch — The Real Multiplayer
Let’s be honest: the current multiplayer mode in Mini Airways is basically just "giving you a few extra cursors." We want to go further. We’re exploring actual cooperative or competitive play. Q4 will see a total overhaul of the Multiplayer Mode to try and solve these pain points.
🚀 The Distant Future: More Pies in the Oven
I know some of you are asking, "What about feature X or feature Z?" , there are other ideas we’re testing but aren’t sure we can pull off yet:
Voice Mode 2.0
Zen/Idle Mode (for those who want an "Electronic Bonsai" experience)
Random Crew Banter (adding a bit of life to the air-chatter)
These features require more technical validation and learning time, so please bear with us.
If these updates sound like your kind of flight plan, make sure to follow us (and the game!).
Which part of the roadmap are you most hyped for? Or do you have a mechanic idea for the new maps? Tell me in the comments—We’ll take your feedback and use it to "motivate" the dev team.
