Public Experimental Build for v0.8 Is Now Live
We have something special to share with you today.
We are deploying a public experimental build featuring the upcoming v0.8 update, including the brand new Dynamic Trading system. Everyone who owns Plains of Pain can now switch to this experimental version and help us test what is coming next.
The experimental build is called experimental.
This is a big step for us, and your help means everything.
Important Before You Start
After switching to the experimental build, you must:
Create a new world
Create a new character
Existing worlds and characters are not compatible with the experimental version.
How to Switch to the Experimental Build
You can switch to the experimental version directly in Steam.
Right click on Plains of Pain in your Steam Library
Open Game Versions & Betas
Select experimental
Once selected, Steam will update the game automatically.
Help Us Test Dynamic Trading
The experimental build allows you to experience Dynamic Trading before the official release. Traders now refresh and change their offers in real time, creating new strategies, routes, and decisions across the wasteland.
You can test the experimental version in:
Singleplayer mode
Online mode on official experimental servers
Private online games with your friends
For private multiplayer games, all players simply need to have the experimental build selected. Once everyone is on the same version, you can jump in and test together.
New Official Experimental Test Servers
We have deployed two new official experimental servers dedicated to community testing.
Private Official EU Experimental Test Server
Private Official US Experimental Test Server
To enter either server, you will need the password: test08
These servers are meant for focused testing, feedback sharing, and playing together during the experimental phase.

This experimental phase is all about polishing. We want Dynamic Trading to feel right, fun, and balanced on release day. Your feedback, suggestions, and even criticism help us improve the system and catch things we might miss internally.
