Broom Broom to all of you reading this!
Last time we posted, we were in the middle of our Kickstarter campaign, Next Fest was just around the corner and we weren’t even halfway through 2025 yet. A lot has changed since then!
We completed our Kickstarter campaign!
Our campaign launched on May 20th and finished on June 17th.
In that amount of time we:
Reached our goal of £45,000 in just under 23 hours
Ended the campaign having raised just over £90,000
Unlocked every single one of our Stretch Goals:
Expanded radio
Longer dates
More Sigil Stickers
Free stickers
Voice acting
We’ll never stop saying it - THANK YOU to everyone who backed, shared and supported us through the campaign.
We’re putting out monthly updates on the games development as part of the Kickstarter campaign updates, so please head over there if you want to read in more detail. We’ll also share our Kickstarter updates via our BlueSky and in our Discord server.
Development Progress
So, the game, how’s it going?
Pretty great, thank you for asking! We’ve been hard at work on new systems, overhauling backend bits and ensuring all the right tech is in place for us to implement new features.
Some highlights include:
Island 2.0 - We’re creating a smaller island! This isn’t shrinkflation, we promise! It’s to ensure the island is the right size for the story we want to tell, keeping everything in scope and improving the overall performance.

Roadworks in progress - Our new system adapts roads to the terrain they are placed on SO. MUCH. BETTER. They feature intersections and branching-off lanes, as well as having automated prop placement! Traversal is the BIGGEST thing you'll be doing in the game, so it's vital to make sure our systems are easy to use and robust!

Broom Parts! Assemble! - We now have a broom customisation system that compiles a rideable broom from multiple pieces! We've had upgrades in-game before, but it only featured mesh-swapping the broom wholesale. Now we have REAL customisation (and also an inventory to track it with)!
Getting this system built means we can now create and stock all sorts of broom parts in the shop and this clever new tech will know how to put those parts together to form your newly bristled vehicle.

Narrative systems - We’ve been improving our dialogue systems, relationship progression, and creating an event flagging system that means our dialogue and world will be more reactive to your actions. Plus we've got fun extras like TEXT SHAKE now.
The environment is changing - We’ve been enhancing the world of Crescent County in a number of different ways. We’ve made new buildings, fences, rock formations and more lanterns than we know what to do with! We have birds flying in the sky, fireflies glowing in the night and it wouldn’t be a game set in the UK without RAIN.

We're not so different, U and I (this is a bad UI joke) - We're reworking our jobs system UI to make it more on-style and straight forward to use! The next step is to take this concept and build the full jobs system around it, allowing us to track quests and earn cash. It's still a work in progress, but we're loving how it's looking already.

No Isle in Team
When we founded Electric Saint the team was just Anna and Pavle. Together they took the world that Anna had created through her art and created the core elements that we’ve seen in Crescent County thus far. The team has since grown and we’ve updated the Electric Saint website to reflect this. We’ll use the website and our Kickstarter updates to talk more about the team; our most recent posts include work from our programmer Pepe and vehicle artist Jed.
We did an Australia! SXSW!
We were part of the SXSW Sydney Official Selection for 2025, which meant showcasing Crescent County at the festival, as well as talking about our experience running a Kickstarter! While there we were also surprised and elated to learn we were nominated for a WINGS Award as part of SXSW Sydney's Games Awards. Thank you WINGS!!

The Demo
If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve already played our demo, or might be considering it. We just want to be transparent about this - for the time being, we have no plans to make any further updates or changes to the Demo that is available on Steam.
There’s a few reasons for this but the primary reasons are:
Continuously updating the demo takes away from development time on the new island
A lot of the work we’re doing now can’t be shown off until we have all the new systems in place
We'll let you know if that changes, but right now we're having a wonderful time building the final version of Crescent County for you all to enjoy!

PHEW. That was a lot to get through, but that’s all for now. We’ll do our best to provide updates via Steam every few months. Remember, if you want regular updates, follow our BlueSky or join the Discord server.
We'll see you in the New Year; we couldn't be more excited with how Crescent County is developing! Have a wonderful rest of 2025!
