Today we want to tell you about a rather complicated, but interesting and ready-made mechanic called Plant. Since this system is quite multifaceted, we will divide this news into two parts and now tell you how it works directly during the game.
📌 Part 1.
A Plant is a predatory plant creature that lives in dungeons and is located on the vaults and walls of caves. Hunting various creatures, he lures them to him with his mana-filled tentacles. The tentacles themselves are extremely toxic, and upon contact with them, the victim will be affected by hallucinogenic substances.
From the gameplay point of view of the mechanic, we work as follows: when a player approaches a Plant, he will feel it and begin to react to it, pulling out his tentacles and luring the victim to himself. Since the Plant does not have eyes and is oriented in space only thanks to its appendages, it will not attack immediately, but will wait until the player gets close enough, and then it will begin to attack. Moreover, while the player is standing next to him, he will hit the entire circle, causing average damage to the character. But if you go up and stand under it, the Plant will strike straight down, causing maximum damage. The player, in turn, will have the opportunity to block his blows and counterattack, and in case of a successful attack, the monster will abruptly hide its tentacles and cover itself with leaves, creating armor through which damage will not pass through it. To finally kill Plant, you will have to wait until he opens up again, and then deal him a fatal blow.
It is worth noting that Plant's behavior extends not only to the player, but also to everyone else, including monsters. So in some situations, this feature can be used to your advantage!)
