We're On Track

Release Progress Update

I have just received recent confirmation that Shrieking Darkness has been approved by Valve to be released on Steam. This was a large part in ensuring the game's release date would be the 31st of October as there are often many actions to be taken to get a game approved (and there were).

On release day, there will be a 10% discount on the game making it possible for more players to join us in celebrating a long 3 years of development and making Halloween the official anniversary of the game's release.

In case you didn't know, Shrieking Darkness has been developed entirely by 1 person here at Renovate Software - that person is me. It's taken quite some commitment to remain on track and vigilant to accomplish the game's current state of development.

The game will not be released as an early access product as we luckily have enough loyal fans that are helping test the game for free for when it is released (thank you). This does mean that when you first launch the game, you should hopefully be presented with fewer issues than those that are in the demo version of the game that anyone can play.

Current State of Development

There have been some great new features added to Shrieking Darkness, and many bugs have been spotted. As of recent, new features such as an in-game shop and mechanism-specific events for players that have beaten the game have been added.

The way the player moves has also been changed, increasing the moving speed by increasing the run button (but adding stamina) and adding automatic turning for side-stepping. Alongside specific movement mechanics for other gameplay events.

As the developer of this game, I have to state that there is a good chance everything will be polished for the game's release this Halloween, but I can't really afford to make any promises (especially considering my current financial situation). If the game continues to gain the support it's already been receiving then all should go exactly as planned.

Finally, you can now watch the countdown clock on the game's official product page located on our website here: click here

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this.
