Hi everyone!
First of all, I want to apologise for the silence over the past few months. There’s been a lot going on behind the scenes, and I feel it’s only fair to keep you all in the loop.
To be completely open, the last few months have brought a fair share of personal challenges. I’ve been dealing with ADHD and burnout, as well as the ups and downs that come with being a dad to a two year old (she’s got a better dropkick than half the roster, by the way). On top of that, I focused on the wrong areas of the game for a while, which ultimately slowed everything down, and we suffered a major setback when the original game files were lost due to a corrupt backup.
But here’s the good news: Main Event: Wrestling Manager is officially back in development. As a one-man team, I’m developing this game in my spare time from South Wales, fitting it in around family and everything else life throws my way. Progress will be slow, but I hope you’ll bear with me.
I’ve decided to take a completely new approach. The game is being rebuilt from the ground up, and my priority now is on solid foundations; making sure the core systems are robust, user-friendly, and optimised. The lesson here: make it work, then make it pretty.
This will mean some changes, but I’m confident it’ll result in a better experience for everyone in the long run. I’ve learned a lot about game development and project management during this break, and I’m putting it all into practice as we move forward.
Thank you so much for your patience, your support, and your understanding. It means more than you know. I hope you’ll stick with me for the next stage of this journey. There’s plenty more to come, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
Cheers,
James
