Good day.
It’s been many years since I started creating Direct Contact. I’ve used all my time and focus to make my dream game, but I’ve now noticed that every time I try to make a new move, I end up going three steps back. One bug breaks another, some plugins are outdated, and a few are even made for UE4, which just makes things more difficult.
I believe Direct Contact is a great game. I’ve made over 30 weapons available for the public to play around with, packed with action and sound design. For an indie developer, having bullet sounds flying past and impact effects, combined with crazy AI shooting at you and even a small inventory system where you need to gather intel and parts to bring back to HQ, that makes this game unique. It's not copied from anyone else’s style.
The HUD system might be basic, but it’s still cool. Some have complained, but hiring people to work with you isn’t cheap. Every weapon we managed to make had a price tag of around $500 to $700, and that’s not even counting the 5+ animations each one needed that took time to make. It’s a challenging concept. Getting someone to see my vision wasn’t easy, but CODY and LEMON stood by me for years, and we made Direct Contact real. I’m proud of that.
I will still stay loyal to the game, but after all this time, I’m finally thinking back to when I was a kid. We played games that had bugs, and that was just normal. Truth is, we may never be able to fix all the bugs in Direct Contact; the challenge is just that big.
Again, thank you all for the time you’ve spent on Direct Contact. We’ve got members with over 500 hours of playtime and counting. That means a lot. So in the end, if you’re willing to take some time to play Direct Contact, it has something for everyone, whether it’s calling in airstrikes or drones, using RPGs and explosives, or completing objectives and tasks.
I’m glad I managed to do all this. It’s been a long, hard road, staying up late, putting many important things aside just to focus on this project. I love it all, and I hope you can see my hard effort in Direct Contact. Game development is a tough trade that takes over your life, and this is my time, showing you what I’ve got.
I salute you all!
