This patch includes fundamental reworks of several mechanics in the game which should lead to performance increases, as well as some new features. It should be live on Steam soon!
User Interface
-Updated Officer Command Panel appearance.
-Updated the visual indicator when an item is an upgrade for an officer to show a more apparent upgrade arrow as opposed to the previous ‘+’ indicator.
-Updated the Biting Beetle icon to no longer be the same as Soft Fur.
-Updated the Monster Part icon to no longer be the same as Creature Brain.
-The Fish-O-Matic 3000 has had some small improvements to more clearly represent your squishing progress.
-Added a “Hide UI” button to toggle showing or hiding the User Interface. By default, this button is ‘-’. Note that this is only for the permanent UI such as Merchant Portrait and Kingdom score, not for the Panels.
-Fixed some verbiage mismatches where it would sometimes read “Gear Score” when it should read “Combat Score”.
-Other various UI changes.
Functionality
-The Quest Cache has been reworked to now just be your ‘Cache’ but contains several different tabs.
Quest Cache Tab - Where all items turned into you from Quests will go. (Unchanged)
Material Cache, Weapon Cache, Armor Cache and Consumables Cache have all been added as separate tabs as well.
To use the Cache, use the newly added ‘Stash Items’ checkbox, and this will allow you to stash items on a per item basis. Uncheck the ‘Stash Items’ to stop transferring.
-Shopkeeping has been added to the command panel.
You are able to assign one or multiple officers to take over the shop as ‘Shopkeeper’. They are not as skilled as you are at shopkeeping, so they will accept all buy/sell options, and also accept all quest pick-ups and turn-ins.
Officers receive small XP gains for each transaction they complete, and there is a small Energy cost associated with each transaction as well.
-The Crystalline Converter has appeared on the Terafell dock. This mysterious machine allows for the salvaging of gear into Nacreous Crystals, which are in turn able to be used to craft into Materials.
-Added two additional save profiles. (Note that while we have done rather extensive testing on these save profiles and they seem to be stable, before starting a new profile it is advised to backup the local files of your main save first.)
-Optimized battle groups and enemy actions to smooth performance while there are multiple instances of combat happening. This should result in better performance overall in games, particularly late games with many instances of combat.
-Hero task functionality has changed to not require as much searching from the AI, this will result in a small boost in game performance.
-The Fish-O-Matic 3000 now allows you to squish fish and store progress made for further oil crafting. This means even if a fish only gets you .2 value toward Fish Oil, you are still able to squish it and store that .2 until you have more fish to finish the craft.
-DPS Meters have been added to the game, along with a new tab on the Dungeon panel called ‘Hero Performance History’.
-Increased drop rates of cloth materials from dungeons.
-When a hero is idling in town, they will now slowly roam the town to better indicate this.
-Transfering items from Cache into Merchant Inventory now happens in stacks as opposed to individually. This functionality was implemented as individual transfers for performance reasons, but with this update we are now able to bypass that.
-Added a check for dungeon groups to reform if any factors impacted or broke apart the group.
Bugs
-Fixed an issue where Ferocity was not able to roll on some crafted items.
-Fixed some instances of items duplicating instead of transferring when transferring out from the Quest Cache.
-Fixed an issue with the crafting quantity slider sometimes not functioning as expected.
-Fixed several instances of potential memory leaks. Please continue to report any instances of game crashes.
