Firstly, I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been playing Bolt Bot during the early access period. The reviews and steam community discussions have really given me a good idea of what people have enjoyed about the game so far and hopefully W3 will reflect that. I honestly think Spooky Sparks is the best world yet and i'm excited to see what everyone else thinks of it too.
World 3 Spooky Sparks is the biggest update yet and is planned for an October release. The aim is for a Halloween release, as it would fit nicely with the theme of the new world, but if more time is needed to smooth gameplay elements out, i think its best to do so. If no serious problems occur during the final testing stages then the update will definitely arrive in October.
As you can see, some levels actually take place indoors this time giving W3 more variety in the actual places you explore. New camera angles are also introduced when Bolt enters bonus like areas of the main levels. For transparency, all the screenshots taken have got all the graphics settings on max with the outline width set to 3.
Naturally, the difficulty has been increased in Spooky Sparks, however most of the more difficult challenges are found when trying to reach the more rewarding collectables. The aim of Bolt Bot has always been to allow players of all skill levels to be able to at least beat the game, but then having the harder platforming challenges occur for completionists.
The Spooky Sparks update will include everything below -
• 12 New levels to beat.
• Loads of Scrap to collect.
• Many Viruses to destroy and Squish.
• 21 Microchips to find.
• 12 Collectable Cards.
• 2 Music tracks for Bit's and Bot's.
• 2 Spray Paints for Bolts appearance.
• 2 Staff Members to hire.
• 7 Golden Tills to smash.
• New Tools and Upgrades for Bolt such as Flame Boots that launch Bolt into the air and a construction hat that powers up various contraptions.
• New section of the Hub World will open up.
