Welcome to our first community update!
Over the past two years, we’ve been working hard on Lost in the Open, a challenging turn-based strategy game inspired by the likes of Battle Brothers, Darkest Dungeon, and many others. We plan to release the game in 2024, but before we hit that milestone, we have some exciting news to share:
Our Kickstarter campaign is going live on July 19, 2023!
Lost in the Open is getting a limited-time demo to accompany the launch of its Kickstarter campaign on the 19th of July, 2023. Over the past 6 weeks, we have been working tirelessly to get the demo ready and showcase a great example of what we want to achieve with the full release of Lost in the Open. Lost in the Open delivers its gameplay in a roguelike fashion, where death means starting all over again. This demo offers a full, but condensed gameplay loop, which is a shortened version of the game’s opening act. The demo includes:
- Multiple different combat scenarios
- Recruiting new bandits to join your team
- Leveling system to unlock new abilities
- Items to find from combat or buy/sell from the trader
- Flanking and positioning mechanics to reward tactical combat gameplay
- A final encounter that’s quite a challenge. Only a few of us have beaten it so far!
Your support since we launched the Steam page has been amazing. We would love your help with the launch of our Kickstarter campaign, not just through backing, but the sharing of the campaign. Our vision is to make Lost in the Open a fun, challenging, and memorable turn-based title, and a successful Kickstarter campaign will allow us to do that.
