Gliese: A World Shrouded in Mystery
At the heart of our game lies Gliese, a mystical world where a towering Monolith stands as a silent sentinel. The origins of this Monolith are shrouded in mystery, its purpose unknown to the inhabitants of Gliese. Throughout the ages, civilizations have risen and fallen, each leaving their mark on the landscape and shaping the course of history.
Buried beneath the sands of time, ancient ruins dot the landscape of Gliese, serving as a testament to the greatness of past civilizations. Some worship the Monolith as a deity, while others have dedicated themselves to unlocking its secrets. These ruins hold the key to unravelling the mysteries of Gliese and uncovering the truth behind its ancient past.
Exploring the Three Regions of Gliese
In our journey through Monolith: Requiem of the Ancients, we'll explore three distinct regions of Gliese:
Proxima Grasslands: A lush forest teeming with vibrant foliage, bathed in the hues of red and purple. Here, nature reigns supreme, and hidden secrets lie waiting to be unearthed amidst the dense vegetation.
Kalios Mountains: Towering peaks cloaked in snow dominate the landscape of the Kalios Mountains. Here, adventurers brave the treacherous terrain in search of ancient relics and the wisdom of the ancients.
Xanios Desert: A vast expanse of sand stretches endlessly across the Xanios Desert, where the capital city of the makers once stood. Here, the Monolith stands tall and unchanged, a silent witness to the passage of time.
Fun Fact:
Did you know that Gliese is named after an actual star system located 20 light-years away from Earth? While our Gliese doesn't represent any specific planet within this star system, it's intriguing to think about the possibility of discovering a world with red trees and a mystical Monolith.
Meet Astor: The Brave Protagonist
“A Hero will rise from the most unlikely of places. A Hero will face evil. A Hero will emerge triumphant. A Hero will transform Gliese...”
— fragment from History of the Monoliths IV
Astor, a youthful Diokek, spent his days exploring the dense woods alongside his steadfast companion, Zan. While Zan's curiosity often led the way, it was Astor's unwavering bravery that propelled them forward into the depths of ancient ruins. Their adventures took an unexpected turn when Astor was bestowed with a remarkable gift: the ability to harness the boundless energy of the Monolith.
Empowered by this newfound ability, Astor embraced his role as a protector and liberator of the oppressed Diokek. With courage as his guiding force, he embarked on a daring journey to confront the Hiltsik menace and safeguard his people and friends. Astor emerged as a beacon of hope amidst the darkness, venturing into uncharted territories to secure a brighter future for all Diokek.
Unveiling the Diokek:
The Diokek, a gentle and peace-loving race, find solace in the hidden sanctuary of Crystal Haven, their subterranean city. While their existence echoes the ways of the enigmatic makers, much of their knowledge about this ancient civilization remains veiled in mystery and legend. Central to their beliefs is the Diokek mask, serving as a conduit between soul and body, guiding them in their journey towards the Monolith's source upon passing.
Encountering the Hiltsik:
In stark contrast to the Diokek's tranquility, the Hiltsik stand as formidable warriors, imposing their dominance and oppression upon the Diokek. With a culture steeped in combat and devoid of remorse, they force many Diokek into hiding underground. Recent surges in Hiltsik activity, fueled by Astor's awakening powers, have intensified their aggression and expanded their militaristic pursuits.
Delving into Ancient Legends: The Mysterious Makers
Among the shadows of history loom the mysterious makers, a civilization long vanished yet shrouded in myth and legend. Believed to be the architects of the Diokek and creators of the enigmatic structures scattered across the world, they wielded powers that bordered on magic, powered by their connection to the Monolith. Astor's quest to uncover the truth of their legacy holds the key to saving the future from the shadows of the past.
