Update 28/11/25

Hello Detectives…

We’ve had a busy few months, as we approach the end of 2025 we're pleased to announce we've made massive progress on The Department. We're still a ways off, but the progress has been immense and we’re excited to share how the project is growing, what the community has been up to, and where things are headed next.

Team Expansion

We’re thrilled to share that our team has grown to 9 talented developers, covering:

  • UI / UX

  • Sound Design

  • Animation & Cinematics

  • VFX

  • Admin support (unglamorous but essential!)

This expansion means we can deliver even more polish, atmosphere, and immersion as we bring The Department to life.

Teaser Trailer

Our recently released Teaser Trailer watch here reached over 300k views across all socials in just 48 hours — a huge milestone for us, and we’re grateful for the incredible response.

Community Growth

Our Discord community has now hit 1,275 members! It’s been amazing to see players and creators come together to share feedback, theories, and excitement for the game.

Early Alpha Playtest

We’ve announced our early alpha playtest — sign‑ups are open now in our Discord, but will close on December 1st, 2025. We’ve already had almost 200 applications — thank you to everyone who’s eager to help shape the future of The Department!

What’s Next?

We’re continuing to refine gameplay, visuals, and sound as we move toward the next stage of development. Our next major community milestone will be a gameplay demo, some time in late Q1 2026. If you’d like to support us, the best way is to wishlist The Department here on Steam — it helps us reach more players and keeps you updated on future releases.

That's everything for now, for regular updates join us on Discord, otherwise we look forward to seeing you on the beat.
